You will se most of the cut scenes, they are a few (like 3 or 4) hidden ones, and 2 hidden Playable Characters (they together can be done at any time). Most you can miss is equip and materias, but the important ones, can be pickup at anytime. Most optionals quests has obvius hints and maybe pausible to do without guide.
This is not your kinda ultra cryptic jRPG. (?)
FF7 has some stuffed to the side secrets but none of it you can't find readily if you explore, except Cursed Ring might be difficult to figure out (and it isn't that good, anyways).
Ribbon and Tetra Elemental are not even that good when you can have almost the same results linking materias. If you link in armor elemental with Typhon and Titan, you have there the same effect that Tetra Elemental.
You dont need a Ribbon when a vaccine has the same effect.
Talking about Hero drinks, you dont need them when you have Cait Sith limit that is way superior.
You cannot get full Ribbon effect via linking materia, but you can get most of it at the cost of wasting slots that could be better used on other materia and Confuse is the deadliest stat in the game as it bypasses Final Attack Reviving and also turns your powerful late game characters into something even deadlier than a boss. Mini and frog are nasty as well. Materia slots are a premium, especially when you already get vastly overwhelmingly superior stats or already damage cap without the need for Curse Ring with a proper setup. Prior to late game Beta/Magic Breath and the occasional limit break already 1-shot everything unless you are using subpar methods to attack.
Tetra Elemental is a nice alternative to Ribbon for those who want a less complicated late game setup and have their stats high enough, albeit I personally think Tetra Elemental is largely unnecessary and only mentioned as a late game alternative that is still good.
You could waste several slots on setting up Elemental defensive combinations to absorb elements late game but that comes at sacrificing premium materia slots and also nerfing your HP noticeably.
Meanwhile, Curse Ring only gives you:
Strength: +35
Dexterity: +15
Vitality: +15
Spirit: +15
Luck: +15
Magic: +35
Begin the game with the “Death Sentence” status effect.
At ultra low level these can be a good stat boost but at higher levels that you will be at late game they only provider a smaller % boost to offensive stats, and the other stats are actually virtually worthless.
Tell me which is worth more. Your cruddy +35 Str to do 9999 damage from Curse Ring or the character who already does 9999 damage without it but is immune to status effects, for example, and wont bypass their own Final Attack. What if we throw on Hero Drinks and they now go from a mere say... 150~255 str to suddenly 300~510 str? Pretty sure that is a lot more than 35 str, but the growth on all other stats is actually very significant (especially dex making it nearly impossible to even be hit by bosses and now even weaker limits like Cid's do up to 9999 per hit).
You are talking about exploiting Cait Sith's limit break as your final support point to Curse Ring but first his slots isn't reliable, even with the trick, it is very difficult and a lot more effort than necessary to get the best slot combo for a free win and the rest of the slots are trash. In addition, he doesn't benefit at all from Curse Ring so why are you even using it as a supporting point to Curse Ring? That doesn't make sense... If you want to claim his limit break then you can have a naked character for pete's sake.
Also you want to have to deal with removing death effects from curse ring and juggling resisting status effects every battle or by sacrificing very large swaths of materia slots (not to mention all the mastered materia you'd need to do this for each character compared to a single easily gotten accessory). IIRC resist (which is better from heal materia than vaccine's doesn't work on confusion like most other status effects, but I could be misremembering so that isn't 100% and resist status effect has some crash glitches in ffvii unless you want to deal with a "technical" game over lol).
Curse Ring isn't a horrible item but it is virtually always a subpar option except the single ultra low level Tifa setup I had mentioned (even then without that weapon and/or on any other character its value falls into question).
The really obscure things aren't really that relevant to winning or enjoying the story.
There is the occasional "where tf am I supposed to go" moment that you might save hours by looking it up.
Hades + Added Effect wastes materia slots and reduces your HP heavily. If you then try to do the same with other summons to also get Tetra Elemental effect you've now lost a very large sum of HP. In addition, I did answer about Vaccine/Heal and their effect, Resist, and the negatives about it (crashing the game due to bugs, the fact that it has a timed upkeep and has to be applied to every battle, the fact that you're using it because you opted to use an accessory slot on a less efficient accessory inducing all these needs, the fact that Resist does not work on all status effects but most and IIRC confusion was one of them it didn't work on but don't recall 100% if confuse for sure was one). You forget each summon materia has a large penalty to stats like HP % and HP has always been the most powerful stat in the franchise.
Beta (does typically 1-2.5k damage) is very well known for being able to 1-2 shot most bosses up until disc 2 where you can get Magic Breath very early in which does around 3-6k damage. Most bosses have between 800-10k hp for most of the game and only a few even have the 10k point. I also pointed out you could simply use a limit break for the few with higher HP if it pops up, assuming they don't die from a few E.SKill casts first. In terms of damage summons and magic do not compete, nor do physical non-limit break attacks at those points of the game (and you wouldn't even have curse ring yet for most of this period) until late disc 2 at which point physical attacks balloon in damage so much you will not actually benefit much if at all from Curse Ring if you know what you are doing. Adding to a capped damage threshold isn't adding anything and it wont do squat for limits like Cid's/Barrett's best ones. The fact that you don't know how powerful Beta/Magic Breath are at quickly killing bosses, which is well known as not just incredibly broken in FF7 indicates you obviously aren't familiar with using them much and don't know how broken they are. Then again you highly praise Curse Ring as basically the best accessory despite it being well known that RIbbon is and I've even educated you as to why.
You waste 4 slots for the Tetra, plus another 2 for your Hades setup and around half your HP because of the massive HP% reduction on those summon matera. I've never seen a 4-5k HP end game setup being recommended over a 9999 HP setup. These are materia that could be used for better things. Also, you don't get 16 slots. You are not even familiar with the equipment and assume the best armors have 8 slots. They do not. They have 4-6. So you are talking using up almost half of your materia slots on stuff that isn't necessary for a very small percentage gain in performance (or in most proper cases literally 0 dmg boost cause dmg stops at 9999 and other stat growths from Curse are too low to matter, in general, and even more so compared to what Hero Drink does).
A proper late game setup of 9999 damage vs 8x9999 capped at 9999 is '='
Just prior to that for most of the game you can already kill those bosses/enemies instantly or in seconds so that extra damage is irrelevant due to boss HP. This game does not feature a benefit to overkills like FFX. Do you know why I point out ultra low level so much? Because the value of +35 str is a flat value, not a percentage increase, and thus as the character levels up it becomes progressively smaller % boost to damage and this value is further negated due to low boss HP in the game and high dmg alternatives.
I never said anything about grinding sources for max stats. My example, quite literally, had a stat range for making example of comparing the two. Even at level 1 it provides as much str, and better for other stats, boost using Hero Drinks than Curse Ring and as they level up it only further widens the gap between the two dramatically. Hero Drinks can be applied to all 3 party members unlike Curse Ring, too. In addition, Hero Drinks leads to the broken dodge rates even at more subtle stats unlike Curse Ring.
It should also be pointed out Curse Ring has all the sacrifices I mentioned before plus additional upkeep for death status (or additional sacrifices to remove it), it gives merely +35 str which is the easiest and earliest source that can be farmed in the game and from several very weak enemies. Since the value is so low you can easily farm up the difference, or a chunk of it, and free up that accessory slot making it even more redundant.
Regarding Cait SIth the method you are talking about has NOTHING to do with Curse Ring or any equipment so I do not know why you keep mentioning it. In addition, that involves basically cheating using two exploits and taking the effort of learning and doing it right and then applying it which can take several dozen seconds or less depending on familiarity executing it. You ought as well just cheat at that point (technically, you absolutely are actually). All of your characters can be totally naked with this. Again, Curse Ring has nothing related to Cait SIth's limit break so stop harping it as a benefit. It looks absurd. Talk about a reach if I've ever seen one. Geez.
You cannot kill Emerald Weapon, Ruby, or Sephiroth before the 60 second timer finishes on Death Sentence effect unless using exploits. You can optionally kill the character with suicide and revive to bypass it and spare the slot if you really insist for the paltry stat gains that late into the game against the super bosses if you really want but it is hilariously suboptimal.
Again, 9999 damage is not != bigger than 9999 damage. I'm not even going to bother with you further. You obviously have no intention of making a proper argument and you don't even know how to optimize or how good certain methods are in the game. Heh, having to refer to a completely unrelated double exploit just to try and make an argument. Good grief.
Video 1 plays out as I described. They are ultra low level (level 14... for an extremely late game superboss, stronger than the actual boss of the game). Thus as I stated before Curse Ring is good at ultra low level Tifa specific challenge runs. So far they are doing everything I described. This is specific to Tifa, and Tifa alone, due to a hidden buff on one of her weapons for eating specific debuffs that stack on one another. They also modified the ATB in settings to anything but active (or w/e the real time term used) so it doesn't run the timer during attacks. They also used Hero Drinks which provided far more of a boost than Cursed Ring on its own did, but they kept knocking hero drinks. Basically, everything I've said with as niche challenge run character specific aka unusual situation as described. If they had actually been like a normal level, heck even level 30-40, and even more so if using another character that doesn't get the death sentence buff/debuff trick, it wouldn't have worked. In addition, they would have been hitting 9999 damage already even without Cursed Ring so the Cursed Ring would have simply added a death timer and virtually no gains.
Aka they aren't being honest and just want to champion talking down to someone.
Video 2 has two exploits occurring. First part is getting it to even land on the cat face. Cat face = automatic win of battle for those who don't know, on Cait Sith's slots limit break but its absurdly rare to begin with but even more so because it comes with a DEATH FLAG game over where the 3rd one has a 255/256 chance of rolling DEATH flag, aka nearly guaranteed to fail it for two reasons. In order to avoid the death flag after using the initial exploit to target the faces and control slot choice you have to use a second exploit that bypasses the timing/animation forcing it to nullify the programmed 255/256 chance by, quite literally, forcibly cancelling it with the second exploit. In addition, it has nothing whatsoever to do with curse Ring. You do not need Curse Ring to use it so I do not know why this person keeps freaking out over something unrelated.
Indeed, it is clearly a waste of time. You continue to spread misinformation and try to belittle others because you don't know how to properly play the game. This is why you chose not to refute my points and simply post these unrelated videos and pretend it was natural even though they 100% adhere to exactly what I've said so far. Disappointing. Humility is clearly something you lack.
This confirms how obsessed you get with people, that is scary. Like i said before, you are a well known clown in this forum and people knows that.
