Microsoft Store version is better
Please Square update the Steam built with the Microsoft Store build, it's much better and we need to get rid of the launcher tied to the SE account.

Well, the Microsotversion has built-in 'cheats' like other FF releases, and I also thin the soundtrack is mp3 against Steam's midi.

Steam version doesn't use MIDI files anymore, they were replaced with the PSX versions of the soundtrack a long time ago.

I guess the cheats are neat but I don't think that version of the game supports the must-have Satsuki mod. The mod maker no longer supports non-Steam versions of FF7
