Also, the blank .iso wasn't being detected when natively mounting with Windows 10 explorer. It works with wincdemu. Free (as in freedom) Software always works better.
Worth it, though.
"go your FF7 install directory and rename the "FF7_en.exe" (ex: "FF7_en_steam.exe") This is important as this is the original steam exe, if this is present Reunion will patch this instead of the converted FF7.exe"
rename it to what ffs
just have to rename it to anything, so the patch will not delete this .exe but the converted .exe
Basically this, but for clarity, its to patch the correct exe. if the "FF7_en.exe" file name is present it will attempt to patch that over the converted ff7.exe.
Also after reading the original comment more carefully, I gave you an example of what to rename the exe: "(ex: "FF7_en_steam.exe") "
Come on, can you even try to have manners? You're making the internet not fun.
Do you not get that 'ex' is short for 'example'? Here's some big fat arrows pointing it out for you.

Cool but you missed the point, this guide was meant to help install Remako and Reunion since they are not out of the box compatible.
So, I looked up this upscale mod (which was not easy since you didn't name it in your post, FF7 SYW "ArkTsukiVock" for those who want to look it up). And it looks good, but It seems to be matter of preference. Remako has less noise but is "fuzzier" where as ArkTsukiVock is more crisp but has more noise.
Really pick your poison. When I made this guide I was not a ware of the other mod, so I would recommend you pick the one you like and use it.
Also, I have the automatically import mods to library folder unchecked yet it still makes copies to "Final Fantasy VII/mods/7th Heaven" folder. Any ideas why? I have the remako HD iro files in "Final Fantasy VII/mods."
EDIT: Got the HD backgrounds to work. I placed the "field" folder to "Final Fantasy VII/The_Reunion/GLOBAL/Texture folder and its all good now.
My mom taught me manners and only had to use the back of her hand once during my entire upbringing
Stop being rude
There's also a file "The_Reunion.log" on my The_Reunion folder, and it says:
Which makes no sense, since I do have the game, as you can see from my Steam profile.
Does anyone have a clue? It seems more people have complained on their main thread there, but nothing...
I can only suggest you ask on the Main Reunion form:

EDIT: This fix seems to block achievements, though.
