edit: ok nvm I got it working. I have no idea what I did differently this time but I just started over from scratch and reinstalled ff7 and ran the game converter and it magically started working.
edit2: actually now that I have this working does any one have an opinion on the settings? I dunno if they actually used a sound canvas module to compose the music or not... Any one care to suggest if I should be using the General Midi or Yamaha Midi? or what sound module mode? or if I should be using a sc55,sc88, etc?

edit3: ok so im pretty sure the reason it wasnt working the first time is because i was using the reunion mod r06 and it replaces all the audio in the game. wasnt there a version that allowed you pick which mods from reunion you want to install. picking custom installation doesnt seem to let you pick which mods you want. I could of swore you used to be able to pick and choose.
FF7 musics were composed on a Roland SC-88 pro :)
How did you enable FF7 music through midi, please ?
I do not understand this part : "and ran the game converter"
Would you be so kind to explain, please ?
The 7th Heaven mod manager was originally built for an older physical release of FF7, so when using it for the Steam version, the file system is rearranged and a dummy .iso mounted to match the older release before the assets can be tweaked or overwritten with modded assets.
