How do I progress through the Sector 5 slums??

So I'm at the point of the game where I met Aerith in the Sector 5 church and are on the run from the Turks. I'm trying to get Aerith to her home but these two guys are blocking one of the entrances through a two way fork near the Sector 5 slums. Can anyone tell me how to get past that point?? Thank you.

Go to the unblocked entrance. Go through to the second unblocked entrance. Enter the house.

It's just next to those two guys, like 10 feet away to the right at the top of the screen. Then in the town on the right side of the screen, go into the glowing light to reach her house.
