Pixelated 2d backgrounds, redux
So, has there been found a method to filter them? Some post-effect billinear filter? It's painful to look at the pixelated mess on your screen.

I like this upscale pack: http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=16444.25

It's not a proper retexture, everything's still overall low-res looking. Not a lot of people working on the pre-rendered field backgrounds. Possible explanations here: http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=14408.0

Peruse the forums and you'll see some small progress toward a proper retexture and recreating lost 3d assets. If you are interested in modding, I recommend Tifa's Final Heaven found here: http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=15520.0

There was another thread I recently saw (can't seem to find it or remember what it was) discussing sweetfx and reshade to re-implement scanlines or other effects that help.

Thanks, I'll take a look. Don't care about retexturing, just need some minimal filtering.

Oh no, it's another butchering of assets with waifu2x, why won't people understand that it's for anime? I meant like game's default option "linear interpolation" for 3d scenes but for 2d backgrounds.

I guess you could take all the backgrounds in the game and use batch conversion in Irfanview to add blur if you really want to get rid of the pixels..
