Save Point Between Rufus Battle?

Is there a save point between the Elevator boss battle and the Rufus boss battle? Its gettin annoying to have to restart every time.

rufus only has 500 hp

kill his pet and then spam lightning on him until he dies, you'll only have to use one potion at max, unless you put yourself in the front row

if you're in the front row, do the 'change' option to move farther away, you take a lot less damage that way

Tbh, you should easily have Climmhazard, if not Meteor Rain, by the time you fight Rufus. One shot GG limit break.

Yeah, I for sure did not grind XD. I'm takin the casual route. I beat the Rufus battle a while ago, I was just gettin salty at FF7's weird save system.

Rufus was pretty easy

The trick with Rufus is to play defensively. Make sure Cloud has a Restore materia attached and keep healing yourself. Take out the dog as soon as possible, then your priorities should be to keep your health up first and hit Rufus only when your health is 70%+. Take enough blows and you can pummel him with limit breaks.

If you managed to pick up the Poison materia in Hojo's lab on the way up, that can help a great deal too - cast Bio on him and let his HP run out by itself.

And I agree with Shirayuki474 - you will NOT have Climhazzard by this stage without serious grinding. Cross-Slash, maybe. But any limits will be better than nothing.
