xbox 360 wired works in menu but not in game

xbox 360 wired works in menu but not in game, as soon as I select play it reverts to mouse and keyboard

Did you change the control option on the character selection screen?
I mean, does it say XBOX CONTROLLER or MOUSE + KEYBOARD?

I tried both and control option is equal to which control type the player has.

The menu was designed to work with both controller and keyboard.

well today 06102022 and tried again, I select xbox controller in menu as soon as I select play only keyboard and mouse work
