Yes it uses stock RPG Maker assets but they aren't used carelessly.
i'm not saying that this game is bad; this game is good enough for the price. i can find better rpg maker games on other site, but it won't hurt to buy one or two on steam to make sure that rpg maker business is still going.
ps: there are other games with worse mappings on steam, actually.
In my experience some acceptable low budget RPG Maker games include Chosen RPG, Storm of Spears, Sins of the Demon, Victim of Xen and Monster RPG 2. I think I prefer all of those to Labroynia 1.
