Block the bottom Y-junction with heavies and screen them with sentinels equipped with shotguns and chaff mortar; one of the most important thing is to build an atomizer with instakill on the left cliff as soon as possible, or those captainbots will be your doom. The left-down entry point is not a big problem in a long run. Stealthed spec ops on the right lane can also help.

This is how I did it:

I had to place the AT bunker at the bottom right since it does a short work of just about anything, whether shielded or heavy armour. When the Captainbot sends Soldierbots to run ahead, most of your things in the middle section will miss them, so something very powerful near the end of the map needs to eliminate them all.

What also helps is placing 1 sniper tower in the center (not on the mountain but below of the y junction) and upgrade it with double damage to non-armored targets (works very good against those rolling enemies).

It's fantastic seeing so many different solutions!

, which is why I am so fond of the game ^^. Tower variation/synergy and upgrades really help here. And also cause it is not only hard counters.

Doesn't it make a difference how you distribute your upgrade stars? I've played around a bit there, but nothing is helping!

What exactly are "heavies"? You make it sound so easy to place all those top-tier towers there, but what if I can't afford them fast enough?

Heavies as heavy marines. I'm relatively sure you can afford them :)

Could you be more specific? Whcih level of marines do you consider as heavy? It would help if you use the terms of the Planetopedia when talking about units.
Reading your above instructions

it sounds like you want us to screen heavy marines (the red ones?) with sentinels (the yellow ones, yes?), i.e. with more marines.
In any case, marines can't stop the Assaultbots. That means I have to build other towers first to stop the first two waves of Assaultbots and then replace them with marines after that - which is always a waste of scrap.

The Atomizer doesn't always hit the Captainbot first (probably because he dosen't always come in first). He's accompanied by a platoon of Soldierbots, and in one of two platoons a Soldierbot is hit first by the atomizers while the Captainbot sends the others out of its range. I've even had Instakill-Atomizers on both the left and the top central cliff, and still not all the Captainbots where eliminated fast enough.

Doesn't any of the posted videos help?

In this thread I can see only screenshots, no videos :steamsad:
I've tried to build the setups from these screenshots, but I kinda never get there:
If I work toward this from the start, one of the earlier waves comes through. If I counter the first waves with other towers and then try to copy these solutions, it's too expensive!

Finally managed with (almost) the exact setup of White Shadow. Had to be careful not to spend a dime outside of that configuration!
