Best (or most fun) beginner class?
A little overwelmed with the amount of choices... any veteran care to specify their fav. beginner class and why? They all look fun , leaning towards war priest or cleric.

Thanks for the help!

add me on steam I can help you with this
You can't really go wrong with a Cleric because they can do everything. Tank well, main heal, off-heal, AoE heal, Warlock style DPS, Melee DPS, Mage style DPS. The only thing a Cleric can't do is Hunter style DPS with pets and arrows etc.

It's a little overwhelming but the build recommendations the game gives help a lot early on and are viable throughout the game even though if you get into hardcore raiding or PvP later you'll want to change them to something more cookie-cutter.

For what it's worth my main was a Warrior because they have 4 different tanking souls and I love tanking so I kind of deviated in that direction due to the possibilities.

I play mage and i'm 15 ele / 61 necro / 0 pryo good solo and dps for dungeons. i would link you the guide but i forgot the site.
I'd say Mage, they have high ranged DPS and pets but you can also mix in heals and there's even a build that allows you to spawn melee weapons and fight up close.

Warriors are typical but also have a ranged build that includes a self-heal and nice buffs that's a lot of fun.

Clerics are all around great.

Rogues are really great too with fast DPS, cool pets, and guns and arrows. :)

There's no way really that you can go wrong and as you play you will see how the different classes and builds work and you'll find the ones you like most.
Well it depends on how you like to play.
I personally like the warior (tank with shield type) and the rogue (with pet) most.
Mind you, i haven't played in years. So, my information is a bit outdated. But when i initially started playing the game, Marksman/Ranger was the way to go. They're great if you intend on soloing a lot. You'll deal a great deal of damage and your pets will add to the survivability. I've found the Cleric to be a jack of all trades and master of none. Too much multitasking if you ask me. It's not a particularly newb friendly class. Mages are much more straightforward and fun if you're looking for a caster class.
