-cannot use AH (can get around this in-game by eventually making enough platinum to buy a REX from another player through a trade; usually 1000-1500 needed..)
-2500 platinum cap (again can use REX method)
-slower queue for server if there's the rare lineup (need to sub)
That's it.
Free players (or at least those with the minimal Loyalty) get a good place in the game.
Patrons (subscribers) get a boost in several ways, but not to an outwith 'Pay to Win' extent.
People who put $10s into the game may get stuff before other players. You can buy stuff like more profession slots on one character, or leveling/advanced gear (not usually top end, and never the very 'best in slot' ones), boosts, etc.
People who put $100s into the game are what Trion loves. You'll get access to random lockboxes, whatever cosmetic outfits (and other stuff) you want, and enjoy all that the F2P transition offers. However, this stuff largely comes down to service, cosmetic, and boost stuff, not outright P2W. Comes close though.
People who put $1000s into the game get whatever they want, period (even chances for gear nearly as good as regular raid drops, in some way). However, at the same time, they'll be just as killable in PvP and noob in raids, so.. grats for them to pay into Rift, I guess?
In every F2P system there is a tradeoff. For example, The Secret World continues by selling content through DLCs, but the players benefit from most stuff being cosmetic and story based, a horizontal progression system (DLCs not being *required*), etc. So on one hand, people have to buy DLCs to get all 'important' content, but on the other, no one loses out (P2W-wise) by not buying them.
In Rift, the tradeoff is that:
-pros --> very low cost of entry, most players on even platform and while there is grind, it is ultimately a realistic amount of it
-cons --> most items are in some way up for sale (either through getting plat via REX selling, or Credit buying directly), except the very most powerful ones or certain rare drops/achievement rewards
-result --> paying players gets the most stuff, but they're not the most powerful, and new players barely have to buy anything in order to enjoy their experience
