Role change
I'm trying to get a clear understanding/tutorial on changing from pyro to necro as main role, but there are no good tutorial vids on YT. I need a starting point, but what I've seen so far are descriptions that seem to be continuations (like in part two) which leave out part one, the beginning.

Hope I'm making my point clearly. I'd appreciate some direction, please.

Just thought about what I'm trying to say, can I make changes without starting over and losing all the points I've earned up to lvl 40? I've seen a vid where the player is custom building his character on a blank slate so to speak. How does he have 60 points to spend on his new build?

when you reset or buy/switch to a new role you still have all your points to re add as you like. its really cheap to rest so you can play around as you like.

its good to use others builds till you understand how the role works but once you get a understanding on how it works its best to respec a way that is fun or works better for you.

don't forget you can have more than 1 role build and you can change them when not i combat. you can buy them from your trainer.

The amount of skillpoints relate to your current level, up to level 60 you will get 76 points, and you can spend those on any soul you have active/choosen, from 61 to 65 you will be able to choose 5 masteries.

When you switch between roles (=3 souls setup), you don't lose anything, you only have to pick your souls, spend the skillpoints you have, fill your actionbars with the new skills and then you can simply continue to play.
When switching between a current and an older role, just remember to spend any new skillpoints you got from level ups.

From level 50 on, you will also earn extra ep for your planar attunement for your whole account. Meaning, every other character that you have and that hits level 50, will have directly access to all the planar attunement points you have earned that far, and will also contribute during leveling to that score as well.

As allways, if you enjoy Rift and have fun with the game, i recommend to upgrade your F2P account at first with a cheap Rift Ultimate Edition Game Box you can buy online. You will get a lot of usefull extras and a 30-days-patron-pass (only for F2P players) from it.
After that, you may choose to either buy the 4 Storm Legion Souls as a pack over the ingame store with REX*, or credits. Or you buy the Storm Legion Expansion as a Game Box or just the code also online cheap.
The 4 Dream Souls can only be obtained through the Rift store, again with REX* or with credits.
Last but not least the Nightmare Tide Expansion, either from Steam or from Trion Worlds.

Those are just options of course, you can play and enjoy Rift for free and continue to do so. If you're still F2P, you might want to check out the Razer Rift promotion and grab the ascend-a-friend code from my profile for more extras.

* REX is a tradeable item, that grants credits (item store currency) and loyality (you need 1500 loyality to sell items over the auctionhouse) can be bought from directly from/via the auctionhouse other players with ingame currency (=platin).

Its a very good idea to buy an extra role or 2 so you can suit different roles (tank/healing/dps/support) with this you can tick more roles when you're looking for a dungeon team.

As a small helpful note, if you make a macro and call it "DPS" for example, give it an icon and then write Role 1 (Or whatever role is your dps role) you can then put it somewhere in your hud and you'll have a nice shortcut to change to your dps role which is clearly labeled DPS.

If you use the role change 'skill' then you'll only have the icon of the soul used which can be confusing.
