Rift wont update why?[SOLVED]

So I have played rift in the past with no issues. However i did a format of my windose box and am finding that it will not update. I orginally installed it outside of steam. But thought why not try installing through steam. I have downloaded the full 20gig and then when gylph comes up it wont update. Saying this;

Your local files cannot be upgraded to the current version. A full re-download is required Do you want to continue?

I have tried install the gylph program but that also wants to redownload the game.

I really want to play the game but i dont wanta download it again as im close to my cap. Is there any workaround for this issue?

Is this a issue that steam has caused or gylph?

I had this happen, and had to repair to get it to run. In glyph, right click on the Rift icon and pick 'repair'. It downloaded a few files and was fixed.

Yeah I just clicked yes to

and it download a 158mb patch. Now its working great!

Sorry I should have marked it solved when I fixed it. Basically they claim it to be a false alarm.

Still not working for me
Ieven checked my file integraty 3 times and hit the patch.... Nothing is happining I still cant get past the play button... it just glitches out and refueses to load

I hit repair A cupple of imes too... but still no results

maybe try running the app as admin. Other then that I dont think i did anything different.
