Warrior
I'm just getting back into this after not playing in a long time and I'm creating a new warrior character. I have basically no experience with warrior and am wondering which souls are the best/easiest to use that will also keep me going through all levels. Any advice is much appreciated. :)

Thanks!

looks like a solid and up to date guide.
Thanks for the reply. I'm going with Tempest/Warlord/another soul I'm unsure of yet :).

it looks like SecondBass has a guide to every warrior soul. ;)
Thanks. I saw one of his and I think it was Tempest, Warlord and Paragon or something too so he seems to have quite a few haha.

I am still a bit undecided. I enjoy the Tempest soul but I also want to use melee when I please. Also is it possible to gear for both dps and tank? What would a good tank soul tree be?
Thanks!

You can use different melee/range roles, and switch between fights when you want to.

Or you can try putting melee and range abilites into a macro:

#show [ability name]
suppressmacrofailures
cast [melee ability]
cast [range ability]

when you're close enough for melee attacks, this marco would use the melee ability before the range ability.
This is just a rough example, for more and probably much better informations on macros, look through the official forums. ;)

Thanks for all the info. How "hard" is it to build for a tank? I know I will need a shield so whenever I want to switch back to a damage soul role do I just put my 2 handed weapon back on or is there a bit more to it than that when I'm gearing my character?

Well, shield+1h might do it for some regular dungeons/invasions/rifts and instant adventures, but anything beyond that will probably require decent tanking equipment as well.

would be the right place to find answers to those questions.

I'm liking the Tempest tree but I wish I could use melee a bit more because I feel more like a mage than a warrior sometimes. I have some other points in Warlord and I use the melee in that sometimes but the Tempest tree does a lot more damage. I also would like to tank sometimes or atleast just use the shield because it looks cool but I don't know if it is any good damage-wise and apparently it is a pain to keep yourself always properly geared. I'll probably just stick with the tempest tree though and use Warlord's melee whenever enemies get close to me. If I do stick with Tempest/Warlord, any advice on what a good 3rd soul would be?

Sorry this question is a bit delayed, but could you please explain what a macro is? I think I have a small idea of what they are but I never used it even on my old level 60 character. Thanks!

about macros and more.

in game, lower left corner, System, Macros, that's where you can create your macros. you can sort different abilities into one macro, place that macro on your action bar, and then activate the abilities in that macro one after the other through pressing that button.

it's not something automated, you still have to activate one ability after the other. but it's a pretty helpful feature, and it can keep your action bars a bit more overseeable.

yt video about building macros.

About Tempest... you could use the build from SecondBass, or depending on if you have access to all souls, you could put 4 points in Warlord for the Recovery Posture, and 11 points into Liberator to get some healing and cleansing abilities. I allways like to place some points in a healing soul with my builds, it's nice to be able to help some fellow player.

Thanks again for more info :). I have all souls except the latest ones (Frostkeeper, Warchanter etc?). I'm enjoying Tempest but sometimes I want to be a bit more warrior-like so I have a few points in Warlord. Also I'm thinking of just using DPS soul tree until I reach high level then if I still want to tank I might look at one of those tank builds and find out how to get good tank gear since doing it now would be useless because I would just outlevel it fast. Thanks!
