while others say a wheel is much better.
also sometimes in f1 games it appears controllers have some assist on even if they are all turned off, though the developers never confirmed this.
that didn't stop people using wheels losing their minds and calling all controller users cheaters though....
A wheel is more precise.. because the "way" it has is longer (and more sensitive for that reason). I had a wheel (force feedback broke.. so it's useless now) but I played worse with it. My thumbs got used so perfectly to the gamepad that it was just working better :P
I use the wireless 360 controller. Didn't use a PS controller since the PS2... but I think if you are used to these they are same good.
I personally don't like the position of their left stick.
I am sure there are noname controllers with the same quality. But no idea abt them :P
The F1 games were always really good with their input optimisations. I played the 2010 one on keyboard... and it somehow worked good enough :P
Hey.. I mean it. The input on keyboard is slowly getting more steep the longer you hold the button. That is the perfect solution for non analog input methods.
You wouldn't win against pad/wheel users for sure tho xD.
I'm using 2015 as my anecdote because it allegedly has similar handling to 2016.
on ps4 controller it is more difficult the way the r2 button works is different making throttle control way more difficult.
