Right its because it was 2001, comparing games to games like Nintendo, night and day difference back then just like now.

One thing for sure the music and vibe with music is top notch too
I can't recall with Civ 3 but Civ2 when you are in constant battles the music knows and it changes to certain vibe, then when your chilling it knows. It's crazy but games were made really well back then.

Civ3 intro makes me feel like one of those ancients from the early civilizations. Part of good history.
