Sid Meier's Civilization III: Complete

Sid Meier's Civilization III: Complete

Can I play this game on my laptop?
I'm not an experienced gamer (Axis & Allies 1942 online is the first/only game I've played on my pc) but I like these civilization expansion concepts. This game looks very interesting, definitely a step up from A&A 1942. I am computer literate but want to make sure I'm not getting in over my head by purchasing this game. Do I just buy the game, install it, read the manual extensively, and jump in? Or should I stick to board games? Thanks in advance for any advice.

1. You can play this game on 20 year old laptops. I am running it currently on a 15Watt MiniPC. It can also run on a Raspberry Pi.

2. There ARE some small issues some users have to make the game run on modern hardware. But those do not affect everyone and it can be solved easily. You can find solutions here:

3. Civ3 to this day is one of the pillars of the Civilzation Series and still praised - though it has its flaws. Yet, it is still enjoyable to play.

4. The game has a manual and an in-game encyclopedia, but the finer points are not explained. There are still active communities around the game, doing that job. Helping new players: https://www.civfanatics.com/civ3/faq/

5. On YT there are a few long-time CIV players, who give great tutorials and tips, like Suede CivIII https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cXZjtYmEsvA

The game itself is not that hard to learn on a basic level. Part of the fun is to experiment and find things out by oneself? Have fun. :47_thumb_up:

Thank you for the information. Much appreciated. I can't wait to get started. I'm going to watch a few more of those videos on YT by that Suede guy. The first video had great info to get started in the game. Thanks again for the response and info.
