3. Civ3 to this day is one of the pillars of the Civilzation Series and still praised - though it has its flaws. Yet, it is still enjoyable to play.
4. The game has a manual and an in-game encyclopedia, but the finer points are not explained. There are still active communities around the game, doing that job. Helping new players: https://www.civfanatics.com/civ3/faq/
5. On YT there are a few long-time CIV players, who give great tutorials and tips, like Suede CivIII https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cXZjtYmEsvA
The game itself is not that hard to learn on a basic level. Part of the fun is to experiment and find things out by oneself? Have fun.
