Civ 3 starting fine but only shows 1/4 of the menu screen.
Hi guys
So, when I open Civ3 the intro plays and it's full screen and everything is fine.
When it switches to the menu, I can only see 1/4 of the screen and it's in the top left.
I can see Steam open behind it, and I can move my mouse to click on Steam.
I've tried ALT+ENTER, didn't work.
I tried going into Steam files, GameOverlayUI and changing DPI settings... didn't work. Tried a few different things with that and nothing worked.
Exited and restarted Steam a bunch of times... didn't work.
I tried changing my screen resolution... didn't work. Tried also changing scale + and -... neither worked.
No matter what I tried, I open Civ3 and it's the same small 1/4 screen in the top left.
Other games don't have this problem so I don't know what else to do.
Any advice welcome, TIA.

Did you try the below set-up?

1. You first go into your game folder:
Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization III Complete\Conquests

2. open " conquests.ini "

3. Add words below and save .

Playintro=0

4. Right click " civ3conquest.exe " in the same folder, then " Preferences ", then " Compatibility " and click " Change high DPI settings " to open new tap .

5. Check the bottom, " Override high DPI scaling behavior. Scaling performed by: " and choose " Application ". Then click ok.

Thx Wolf Tony Wolf. That worked!! Awesome.
Just for others info the ini file didn't have the suffix .ini but is listed as "Configuration settings" as it's file type.

That's a Windows Explorer setting. If you open Windows Explorer, and then open the Options dialog, on the View tab, one of the checkboxes is 'Hide extensions for known file types'. This is checked by default on Windows. Unchecking this will show the file extension as .ini
