Sid Meier's Civilization III: Complete

Civ 3 Complete vs Civ 5 vanilla
Which one is better content-wise? Currently I'm playing 5 but I was wondering if 3 with all dlcs wouldn't be better than 5 without dlcs.

tough question. Most people say Civ5 vanilla is not very good and is much better with its expansions. Civ3 is good with expansions, but it is a different style of play which you would have to get used to. I myself prefer civ3 over civ5, but it is different with everyone. Civ3 is cheap so you can try it, and always go back to civ5 later. Civ3 takes some time getting used to so dont just do 1 quick try, make sure you get a good feel of the game.

You may want to check this out though: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=561753 Humble Bundle is bundling civ3 with some other Firaxis games for an extemely cheap price. For a limited time though.

If you're interested in playing online, no contest, civ 3 is better. Single player is a tougher question. Human players of civ3 had serious balance issues against the AI, which in some ways were made worse with PTW/conquests. Civ5 had serious issues, and single player got stale fast. These issues were resolved in the expansions (unlike civ3), but overall I'd say that C3C offers more replayability (especially with with the bundled scenarios) than vanilla civ5.

Of course, if you have the choice to get civ5 with expansions and only care about single player, go with that, and don't look back.

Best not to compare civ3 issues with the civ5 issues. Civ3 has a different set of issues to civ5. Civ3 is completely playable in singleplayer and the AI provide a decent challenge to any average-intermediate player. For pro players, Sid does provide a good challenge. But there are a few other issues with civ3 like the AI doesnt use artillery the way they should, and some other minor ones, but there is still the replayability in the normal and then all of the mods.

For some the AI perform better on civ3 compared to civ5.

How about Civ 3 with all dlcs vs Civ 5 with all dlcs? I have both, i enjoyed Civ 5, and thinking about trying out 3.

About the same as said before. Depends on what you like. Both games are different play style and take time getting used to.
