Civ3 Capture Princess, Missing Command

I have Civ3 Complete and am playing a Capture the Princess game. I just captured the enemy capital and Princess unit, and have a sizeable force in the city. The Princess unit has no movement points; yet somehow, I'm supposed to be able to get her back to MY capital for some VPs. The info in the game was lacking on exactly how to do this; however, the Civilopedia and the manual both say this should be done. So, I went googling.

I discovered that there is supposed to be a "capture unit" command, with a sort of handshake graphic, that should appear when (1) the advanced unit commands are enabled in Preferences; and (2) when a unit is in the same city as the Princess. These were specified in posts in at least two different Civ communities.

As stated above, both of these requirements have been satisfied. However, no "capture unit" button appeared anywhere for any of the units (all the other available buttons did, though); no such command appeared in the right-click menu; and no info was found on a hotkey for this function, even on the major Civ community sites.

Does anyone know about this "capture unit" command, or how to get the Princess back to my capital as the game says to do?

I know that it doesn't work for me either, and that this problem is not unique to the Steam version. Beyond that, not sure.

Not sure why you wouldnt have it. When you have a combat unit in the city with the princess, a joining hands button appears. You dont have to have advanced unit commands on. The unit then has a bunch of red exclamations after its name, and you can walk the unit back to your capital/VP location (depending on setting).

Thanks, Natmeris, but nothing like that happens. I think the best choice is to avoid this option in the future. It doesn't break the game for me otherwise. So far, this is the only feature I've discovered that doesn't work, out of all the new ones in Complete. I used to play the original off CD-ROM years ago.
