Acceleration of SUGURI 2

Acceleration of SUGURI 2

I thought Rockin' Android published Suguri games
I don't know much about how publishing works but I heard something about rights being split or something, does that mean that Fruitback Factory has rights to Suguri now?

I'm happy Fruitback Factory publishes this game, I don't like how Rockin' Android published the last game plagued with bugs and an online that didn't work and then left their forums and support dead.

It goes by game-to-game basis, not series basis. RA still has Suguri 1 and AoS1 hostage.

Since both Suguri and AoS are still on Steam, I don't think FBF is the sole owner for the localisation rights to the Suguri series.

That said, the exact nuances of who owns what and how is something that can never be meaningfully discussed in public. Legal mumbo-jumbo and all that.

Edit: Very odd. I checked out GamersGate on a whim, and all of RA's games have been pulled from the service. They're still available on Desura and Rice, though. Probably means little, but something to think about, I guess.

AoSX netplay does work, it's just really finnicky. Both players need to have the same video settings and stuff. I think a lot of things are bugged because of the redrawn graphics, but work properly if the old art is used.

The lobby system has been confirmed broken, regardless of graphics settings used. I haven't been able to use the TCP/IP connection method yet, but that's apparently all that works. And while it may work, why should anyone have to bother?

I tried playing with some folks online and every time I played Kae it led to crashing.

I'm glad RA didn't get a chance to ruin this game. Sorry, but I've been disappointed with how they handled a few of the games they've relased. Especially Diadra Empty, which has bugs that make the game in effect unplayable persist to this day.

Lol I had forgotten about their lame excuses for emoticons and pixelated profile backgrounds.

I remember reading an apocryphal story that 100% Orange Juice! was initially supposed to be localised by RA, not FBF. Could you imagine how different things would've gone then? Probably never goes on to be a cult hit, no DLC, no new stages, etc.

I was :100percent:praying Fruitbat got a hold of AoS2.

There's been a few changes of hands in terms of Daidaijiru localization. I will say though, that Fruitbat Factory is by far the BEST choice we can hope for.

I believe OmegaTH had something to do with Rockin' Android not getting the rights sora by being a no-good scummy ♥♥♥♥. Though to be honest, I'm glad Fruitbat Factory were the ones that localized sora and not Rockin' Android. It does pain me to see that Sara Leen not getting her version of the localization out since she did a translation of an old demo for sora, but considering Rockin' Android track record of quality assurance (*cough*Diadra Empty*cough*) and games left to rot in Steam Greenlight purgatory (*cough*CrescentPaleMist*cough*), I'm all the way okay with Fruitbat Factory taking the reigns of localizing the Suguri series. The last good thing to come from the were the Gundemonium trilogy and Bunny Must Die! if you as me (BMD never got borderless fullscreen support though); AoSX HD has some lousy crashing bugs that were never fixed (and guy the pick for PR is a pompous ignoramus), and some sound problems that were never checked before release, and don't get me started with how they butchered Diadra Empty. With Fruitbat Factory, they were able to give sora high-res visuals, give it XInput support, and borderless fullscreen support. It's like Fruitbat Factory is doing what Rockin' Android tried to so with a few of their games but better.

Rockin' Android sadly really ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up hard. They used to be pretty good but for one reason or another became lazy and started releasing horribly bugged games. Not to mention they tend to vanish off the face of the earth with each game they release, rarely actually supporting them.

Fruitbat has done a great job on updating games to work flawlessly, quickly solving any problems that pop up.

As was stated above, it's on a game-by-game basis.

Originally Rocking Android acquired the rights to both Suguri and AoS, but OmegaTH had Sora's rights so RA couldn't publish it. Because of that Fruitbat Factory was later able to acquire the rights and republish the game, so, in a very unexpected way, OmegaTH actually saved the franchise.

Nah, just kidding, screw them to hell.

I'd like to make clear I shouldn't be quoted as a reliable source on that. In fact, I was able to have a lobby game once, but they failed in every other attempt so I'd classify them as "broken".

They even changed the texture engine, greatly reducing the file size and loading times, and made efforts to add widescreen support. Sora's republishing was just amazing.

I drew my own conclusion about the lobby system from other topics and other users in addition to your testimony. Sorry if you feel like I'm putting you on the spot.

I can't even play AoS because I can't bind the spacebar to my physical weapon fuuuuuu
