Issues with launching Umbrella Corps™ through Steam may be tied to a Windows anti-virus and security feature called Data Execution Prevention, or DEP. DEP may be flagging the application as a false-positive and causing it to shut down. While our development team is looking deeper into the issue, users can follow these steps[windows.microsoft.com] as a hotfix:

1. Open System by clicking the Start button, right-clicking Computer, and then clicking Properties.
   
2. Click Advanced system settings. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
   
3. Under Performance, click Settings.
   
4. Click the Data Execution Prevention tab, and then click Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select.
   
5. To turn off DEP for an individual program, select the check box next to the program that you want to turn off DEP for. In this case:
   
   C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Umbrella Corps\uc.exe
   
   And then click OK.
   
   If the program is not in the list, click Add. Browse to the Program Files folder, find the executable file for the program (it will have an .exe file name extension), and then click Open.
   
6. Click OK, click OK in the System Properties dialog box if it appears, and then click OK again. You might need to restart your computer for the changes to take effect.

This gave me hope, but i followed all steps and the game still does the same thing. I click play, it goes to black screen like it wants to load and then crashes still.

I try to start the game and it doesn't even open. It says the program is running but then it doesn't switch to a new window or even go to a black screen, then crash. it just doesn't start at all

Exact same thing that happens to me, i've tried everything.

I got a refund and will keep an eye out for an actual fix. if they come up with one I might buy it again.

if you are playing with headphones the game will crash try to unplug them and it will start normally I hope capcom fix this ASAP cuz I am one of the biggest fans of "RE series" and I am really disappointed of what I am seeing please CAPCOM don't kill this game

Hello All I found a small fix the Data Execution Prevention DEP does help but what they do not tell you is your antivirus program may also be stopping it I use AVG and when Temp dissable it the game worked fine also AVG then asked do I want to add it to a list. So try the DEP fix with Temp dissable whatever antivirus you use or add it to that programs. hope this helps.

So my game gets to the Press Start to play screen - which is the main "Main" menu screen one would see, but after pressing start I literally get a black screen with the loading logo (After it's finished loading) to flicker constantly and have the game stuck in an infinite loading loop. I'm running W10, which says is supported. I just wanted to check out the new updates but I can't even get anywhere past the very first screen of the game.
And I've done every troubleshooting trick I could think of, so unless there is a trick someone else knows, I got no clue how I could launch it.

Developers not gonna respond you, they drop support of this game and patching 12 months ago.
