Can you list your PC specifications? Particularly, what is your version of Windows? If using a Windows 10 Insider Preview build, some beta builds may have driver-related issues for XInput devices such as the Xbox One controller.

having the same issue as is my friend, hopefully they put out a hotfix soon as it kinda makes the game semi unplayable

winodws 10 stable build here, same issue, also using a razer wildcat controller.

I'm having the same issue as well.

Windows 10 (10586.420) Which is the latest public stable build.
Intel Core i7 4790

This is happening to just about everyone trying to use an Xbox One Controller for this game including myself. Not sure how they messed this up since the game was clearly made with controllers in mind, as it seems to be the easiest way to play the game AND it was made for the PS4 WHERE YOU HAVE TO USE A CONTROLER. PS4 playes can play it fine with a controller, but we can't with an xbox one controller when there's a clear picture of it in settings when you look at the controls!

Literally makes no sense. Gamebreaking controller bug, please fix this ASAP!

I can confirm as well Xbox One Wireless controller with adapter does not function properly even on Windows 7! I don't know how many Resident Evil games I've had issues with this problem; on menu screen with controller seems like analog stick is always scrolling to the right making choosing option practically impossible. After unplugging controller and turning back on the game will then no longer recognize anything even M/KB won't function. Capcom, how could you even let a bug like this past testing stages, especially since there is even a picture of the controller in the options screen?! Please fix!

I figured out how to fix the xbone controller issue, it's not a problem w the game more than it is with the unity engine apparently.

open device manager -> select 'xbox peripherals' drop down and right click 'xbox controller' -> update driver -> select from a list don't search automatically -> select 'xbox one controller'

The issue is that it looks like there are two drivers for the controller and one of them might be broken. 'xbox controller' and 'xbox one controller.' You want the 'xbox one controller' driver.

EDIT: I should probably blame win 10 and its wonky updates moreso than unity but I dunno

I got a 310 logitech xinput and direct input controller. Playing the game with the controller feels worse than the mouse. I read alot of people having issue's with the mouse and all recommend controller but I swear the controller doesn't work any better. RT used to shoot doesn't respond the best, movement and aiming seem to be just as bad with or without a mouse. I made sure the sensitivty was raised and the aim helper was set to 0.

I went into device manager, took a looks'y. My win 10 fully uptodate, All I see is xbox 360 drivers, not one is labeled xbox One. I checked the box to show all drivers, still notta. Glad you figured out you're issue. Still trying to figure out mine hehe :)

Same issue here using an xbone controller on windows 10.

Same issue using xbone controller on Windows 10. Works fine in-game, but is unusable in menus, and unplugging it means closing the game if you want to progress any further.
