The way they hold the pistol makes perfect sense in-game context. Why is this tolerated if not encouraged? Irritates me to no end that Steam doesn't have a method in place to address people trying to deliberately kill games.

In no way does firing a handgun next to your face, with the muzzle even with your nose make sense.

well, if any of you people took 2 seconds to notice your character's hand positions, one hand is covering the head and making a makeshift face shield out of the left shoulder/forearm plate (which is actually capable of deflecting headshots) while firing the pistol with their right hand. Is it a real fighting stance? Nope. Are zombies and zombie shields real? Nope.

Pistols work and you can get kills with them if you learn how to use them like any other weapon, and this seems like just another trivial thing used to pick apart this game.

Not to mention they're wearing gas/face masks with tinted lenses and earpro. you guys are severely overestimating the power of a pistol's muzzle

No. Considering one of the guns is a huge revolver, the blast from the cylinder gap would still ♥♥♥♥ you up.

Safety aside, it makes no sense because you would not be able to use the sights of the gun at all. Point shooting is out of the question as well, since the gun wouldn't even be in view.

I'd write it off to artistic license, but I can't think of a single reason they would want the animation to look like that.

The difference is that those other things make sense in the context of the game world, while the handgun animation is just awful looking.

actuall you do aim down the sights whenever you right click? with any weapon, not just pistols.

The revolver and the desert eagle don't make sense, maybe, and I would accept that they should require a two handed grip. The rest of the pistols are fine though, and someone capable of scaling entire building in seconds with just some climbing gear should be able to accurately fire a .45 and below one handed. That's how they used to teach soldiers to shoot back in WWI and II

I know this's going to be SUPER WEIRD but there are these things called hearing protectors/ear plugs and there's this new technology... they can filter out just gunshots... I know, super weird. So. Yeah. Super weird man. I know, right? You can still hear everything else! WOW!

Sure that's not your everyday handgun holding position, but that's how you might want to aim with a one-handed weapon if you need to shoot while at the same time keep covering your face with a shield placed in your left arm. It's definitely not the most aesthetic handgun holding position, but it makes sense considering those mercenaries' equipment.

Sure, but the same applies to every character in the RE series universe. They all should been deaf considering how in every game they fire and keep firing all kind of weapon (including grenades and heavy stuff) without any kind of silencer or ear protection. At least the UC soldiers default equipment do include ear protection in their helmets.

Nobody has ever taught anybody to fire a pistol by holding it on the side of their face.
