The Snail not in inventory

I assume it was supposed to be added to my inventory to be used. But I can't find it anywhere?
Is there any way to fix the bug or do I have to start the game from the very start again?

Hi there, the snail should be localized in the small cave in the top-right of the level.
Also if it is a bug you can can delete save game from the ingame menu. It is not a perfect solution but I hope it will help.

The snail was totally gone and unobtainable and I figured only way was to delete save and start again but I had no desire to go through it again so I just looked up rest of the game online.

I can confirm this bug - I got the snail first before talking to the whale.

I fixed this by getting killed. Dying to those tentacle-like creatures will reset it

That's the first thing I tried. Did nothing.

You should have to pick up the snail again by going through that process of fetching it and getting electrocuted. If you're saying the snail is consistently not in your inventory after trying this a few times, I have no idea.

Nah it checkpointed me after getting the snail but I didn't actually get it. So it never spawned. The only way was to restart the game from the very start.

i am necroing this thread. I am able to get the snail, but then after frying it with the eel, the snail disappears from my inventory and i cant do anything to proceed but to kill myself and get stuck in the same cycle...
