cannot upgrade basic clan lightfoot

why is it that i cannot upgrade my basic clan light foot? eventhough my basic is already at level 10, and i already have the tome for advance.. it says that cannot learn kung fu due to requirements for basic not met,, can somebody akcnowledge and help me

Check with the trainer for your clan, you may be learning the higher up tome. You should have one you learned from a clan trainer, and then you read the book. There's a normal upgrade then an advanced. You need the normal upgrade. I could be wrong. Check it though.
