Game doesnt work after download

I can't play the game, ive tried reinstalling, it has just stopped working for me as a whole

Same. I can get it as far as launcher opening, but can't connect to upgrade server for updates or launch the game.

Uninstall Mcafee or any such program thats blocking the game launcher

So you have to uninstall your antivirus software to get this game to work? Yeah...that's not suspicious at all... :/

This has been an issue since before 9D came to Steam, and I have personally had this issue. Above guy is correct, it is indeed your antivirus causing the problem.

And no one finds that suspicious? I have many, many other games that play just fine with my antivirus... Either the developers have less than wholesome reasons for making it like this...or they need to fix this issue.

That said, are there any other Xianxia/Cultivation games out that are translated...free or otherwise?

I don't have any problems playing the game with my antivirus program OUTSIDE of the Steam client. What's going on with that?

I'm actually able to play the game just fine now...and it's got more to do with security permissions than anti-virus. First I was turning off that account permissions thing to play it...then there was something else I figured out but can't remember at the moment where I didn't even have to turn off the permissions.

Still can't quite remember what I did but it had something to do with the permissions from what I can recall. Try right clicking on the desktop icon and going to properties...from there go to security and click on "Advanced"...give the app full control under all user names. I think that's how I got mine to work.

Nevermind, figured it out. Right click 9Dragons icon in your steam library, properties, local files, browse, and just start the launcher from the files. I don't know if it helped, but I also right clicked the launcher in the download file, and chose "Run this program in compatibility mode for Windows Vista". Hope that helps everyone.

the game is so old it doesn't actually run on high spec rigs, myself and my brother both got rigs with high specs and neither can run the game and my brother is highly versed in IT so he attempted all the possible solutions, even running it on virtual machine, my gf's ancient laptop can, sadly game can be fun but its made for 2006 rigs, disappointing

I have a brand new PC, latest drivers, latest GC, latest CPU, and the game works fine. Are you sure your brother is that highly versed?
