Windows 10
i have a physical copy of this game that i bought a few years ago, played it on windows 7 and it worked.. now i want to paly it again, and it seems to not work. I am using windows 10 btw, does it not support windows 10 or am i just doing something wrong? o.o

Sorry to hear that.... I suggest you try Steam Support (click "Help" in the top lefthand area of this Steam page, and then when the menu opens, click on "Steam Support").

be sure you install patch 3.19 if applicable and if you are running RivaTuner Statistics Server disable that.

Where do i download the patch? btw its not steam version, just so you know

Im sorry to inform you I had a friend who ran into this issue, and because of some security system on the CD it isn't supported on Windows 10. (Something along the lines of can be used to install viruses but looks normal). Solution being send 2k Support an e-mail saying "Hey, I own CIV 4 CD edition but can't play it." Then ask if you could get a steam key possibly. My friend got a response with in a few hours detailing how to get a steam key and got in the following day. Works great, good luck.

no, it isn't compatible with Windows 10 if you have vanilla, apparently there is this "3.19" patch but its only for users who have a phyiscal copy of beyond the sword

But if you send an e-mail to 2k they will send you a steam key. You have to show them your physical copy and something else but they are willing to work with you because they realize nothing can be done about CIV4 on windows 10.

If you have a disc copy but want a steam key send an e-mail to 2k support. They will instruct you on how to get a steam key.

I know I am little late for the party on this. I just wanted to say thanks One & Only Freight Cabbage. I just sent in my support ticket to Y2K and in under two hours I have my steam copy and am ready to play.
