Resolution Issues

I recently installed Civ IV on my laptop and it by default is starting in the lowest resolution causing it to be a square display rather than the 1920 x 1080 resolution that is my laptops default. I tried manually changing the resolution in the _Civ4Config file which did not work. Whenever i try manually changing it in the game options, the game crashes. Any suggestions?

Hi I had the exact same issue. CIV 4 with the all the expansions. Got it to work just now by going into the settings. Turn off Full screen, exit the game, load it up, change the resolution to 1920x1080. exit the game. It then loaded up with that resolution then i went to the options and turned on full screen. Then it worked in full screen.

(Also in the middle of that, i was loadeding up the game to test in each point to see if it would work in the actual game, not sure if you need to that or not).
