How to Play Scenarios

Hi, I really enjoyed the scenarios in CIVIII but upon trying to play ANY of the scenarios in CIV4 it won't let me. It just keeps telling me to relaunch with no progress being rendered at all. How can I play the scenarios? Thank you.

I'm not sure what you actually did. With certain scenarios, the game must restart to load a mod. You are presented with 2 choices. Did you click "ok", so that the game would do it? Or did you click "cancel" instead?

I tried to play the crusades scenario and it told me to restart and so I did. Next it says, "Mods\Crusades\ is an invalid mod directory, ignoring. Thank you.

There is no scenario that comes with Civ 4, Warlords or BTS called "Crusades" in the game menus. Is that what you call the 1000AD scenario (there are 2 versions, one for Civ 4 and one for BTS)?

Is it a mod that you downloaded?

Ah, I noticed the "Crusades" scenario in my Civ 4 scenario menu, and I managed to get it working.

I clicked to start that scenario, and got that same message that you quoted above ("Mods\Crusades\ is an invalid mod directory, ignoring."). Then when I clicked to to play Civ 4 again, it seemed to launch into this scenario:

Have you got it working yet?

If you want a world-spanning game which includes the crusades, then I recommend the Earth 1000AD scenario (either the Civ 4 version or the Civ 4 BTS version).

The scenarios that come with vanilla might not launch in warlords or BtS
you could look at the mods forum on CivFanatics for updated versions
