Cant buy Definitive Edition.
Im trying to buy the Definitive Edition to upgrade my game, but Steam says I already own it. I only have the base game without any DLCs, I even checked my licenses under my account details and my license is only for the base game. Has anyone got the same issue?

There is no upgrade option, both editions are identical SKUs so not treated as separate products.
Definitive is just the game plus all DLCs, not separate version of Tekken.

So you must either make another steam acct or permanently remove the game from library first.

The funny thing is, I found a thread from a year ago and people could buy the Definitive Edition even if they owned the base game. I guess they changed it since then. It feels really stupid to delete a game from your library just to buy it again, instead of giving us the option to upgrade like any other reasonable publisher would do, anyways thanks for the answer.

Yo seen this. Was gonna grab, went from positive review to negative soon as I saw how bs it was. Seems theyve done this with Little Nightmares too and who knows how many other titles.

Assetto Corsa is another example,
I came here to know which one to purchase like are dlc's worth it in-game?

Oh this is sad... was hoping to finally grab DLCs at reasonable price only to be faced with this nonsense...

If it's that important to you, you can always remove the version of tekken you have from your steam library and buy the def edition. First world problems and all.

Does that definitely work ?
I'm paranoid that I'll remove the game, but still won't be able to buy the def edition, due to some cooldown timer or other restriction

U can re add the game to your library anytime
There is no time restrictions for that
But i beleive even after removing it "purchase for me" option will still be disabled

If I understood correctly and there's no way for us to get it, the only thing I can think of would be asking Harada on twitter about it, since he tends to answer a lot of english questions. Don't know if he can do anything about it though.

I think this changes on Steam not on BamCo part right? They went the way of Sony Digital Store meaning it's worse.

At this point, it would probably be cheaper if you just remove the game from steam and on your pc (delete it basically) and then buy the definitive edition. This is assuming you got the base game for cheap.

I had to buy them separately. The season passes I mean. Steam also did a lousy job in listing what's under a certain DLC. I found some of them don't even list what "characters" are in those DLCs. I had to google it. Is this steam's incompetence or is its Namco's?

I'm like who the ♥♥♥♥ is charge of sales operation? How are you messing up the basic descriptions of a product?

I've seen this trick mentioned with other games too I'm pretty sure it works but personally I can't be bothered to go over such a process. If Namco doesn't bother listing proper upgrades for their games whatever their loss.
