Don't Bother if you're new
Game is just filled with Smurfs in every rank, you won't even be able to play, especially if you haven't played Tekken before.

Just trying to play Quick match, have some fun and get matched up with S+ Damage and Punishment Proficiency at Green Rank? Sure.

The matchmaking might suck but that doesn't mean you have to, practising against higher ranked opponents is the best way to get better at the game

I'm not new to Tekken, These are die hard players that know everything about the game pub stomping people

if I you want an easy opponent you can play against AI. Don't know what kind of advice this is. If you don't want competition, don't ask for it. Tekken is made for that and I as a casual have fun playing against players that simply are so good in t7 and thats what I agree to when I start playing online. I also can't disagree more with your statement. Sometimes you will encounter players that are either far below or far above your skill level. Who cares?

Yeah I didn't say that I am screaming kicking and crying about losing, frankly all i said was that the game has a ♥♥♥♥ ton of Smurfs. Which it does...

I could literally say anything and anyone can have the response of "Get Gud" or "Don't play it then"

If you were playing against someone, that is a low rank, and you just lose over and over and over dozens of times, Yeah you're human, you're gonna get irritated.

It's not a hard concept to imagine. I'm just telling anyone new to Tekken 7, don't bother playing online.

This mentality will get you nowhere. Play ranked where the chances of matching with people of your own skill level increases. Even good players who pick up characters that they did not touch before will never be as good as their mains.
Its hard to find yellow-blue ranks in this game. Its either greens or gold ranks
Not hating on op:

Tekken 7 is past not.only it's initial launch- but it's entire lifespan.

You shpuld.not be anticipating functional ranked and "fair matches" when the game has been out for years and years.

I suggest lobbys or quick match.

yeah no hate on my part either. I just think people that like tekken enough to start diving into rank should not be encouraged from doing so. I understand why op thinks it is better to avoid but really I am one who started playing ranked matches on sunday and only played offline unfrequently before. Starting ranked matches was a good decision I had a lot of fun since then and my experience is mostly positive.

Out of about 20 people that I matched the previous days there were 10% at max with madly good skill, but they skipped me themselves. Sorry there really is no reason to worry about not finding anyone that a new comer won't have any fun to play against.

if youre new and hate losing just pick Akuma, Leroy, Jin or Kunimitsu and youll win in no time and youll be learning the game as you win.

that profficiency rank never made sense even when the game was alive, you can get S+ in agility and sidestepping by just spamming u and b buttons using two index fingers and S+ in agressivenes by just mashing at any given moment

True, skill distribution is now all over the place. There are TGPs who play like 1st dan and Warriors who play like TGOs. Only hardcore players left now, but best players are in T8.

Yes but, the entire point of this topic is that the game is over run by Smurfs, I'm not saying the game is bad, if anything I'm saying I'M BAD, but if you're new to Tekken 7, even jumping in quick match

You'll just get stomped, I have 5k hours in Tekken in my life. The mentality "Fighting a strong opponent makes you better"

Okay that only works when you have a understanding of the game, and a deep one at that...
getting stomped every round and you're not even getting a round on someone is just boring...

Dude a newcomer doesn't even know what the buttons are yet... So a Kazuya that has 5k wins, So probably like 2k hours? Just on Kazuya no doubt, he is smurfing and the guy who just picked up Tekken for the first time gets constantly matched up against him because, well no one plays this game anymore, so the TGO just make new accounts just so they can even match with someone, which is just low rank people...

Let me give you an example, If you go and play Basketball with a College Athlete that is going to the NBA after he graduates, and you have no experience with Basketball whatsoever, and he is using 100% of his skill on you, while not telling you any tips or how to play at all.

Why would you even wanna play? So you can sit there and watch him score on you?
Look I think someone should play Tekken and practice, sure you'll get your ass kicked in like Tekken 8 (Game is a ♥♥♥♥ show btw rn) but at least there is some skill ranges.

This post isn't about not playing if you lose a bunch. It's about smurfs dominating this game who are obviously above TGO, just crushing people in Quick Match, bro if you hit TGO, just go play Ranked if you're gonna play I mean really... If you hit that rank you're a certified sweat my guy...

tekken ranks are broken and easily get corrupted/lost
plus the game is dying
ur gonna lose 99% of matches, best you could do is add an opponent so that you can fight with him

Example with basketball isnt relevant because you in fact LEARN when you play stronger opponent. Just play more patiently dont throw big moves out, hold back and see if you can land 10f punish on something. Jab/mid check a lot
