I will play wifi only against you.

Actually the whole wifi dilemma is a made up thing. I remember playing in last season I almost never had problems with connections. But now when the wifi indicator came into the game, lagging has became a real thing and the general match quality has taken a deep dive.

I guess Tekken devs just need scapegoats to draw the attention away from the fact how broken and unbalanced this game is.

wifi is workable only with fiber connection else it's too lagging that's all

i don't speak about freeze, i just speak about playig in slow motion lagging against wifi players, i don't understand they continue to play like that, they don't realize it's not working ??

stopped using wifi because of lag more than 4 or 5 years ago not fun at all when you are lagging and its your own connection at fault

i know and that is why i don't understand with the guy lagging, i have fiber ethernet connection so it's good but i imagine if i have a wifi connection like some players here i will not hesitate to going to the shop and buying an ethernet cable, it's cheap, they can have long ones for only 10 bucks and it will be really more fun for them and for everyone to playing with them

the problem is not from the game, it's connection it's a peer to peer system, and we see in game the difference between wifi player and ethernet player, no lag or no slow motion with ethernet players, with wifi in most case it's lagging or slow except some good wifi exists yes, but in 2/3 of cases it's lagging or slow in wifi

Wifi is halfduplex and unstable. Even by being at less than 1m from the box, you got microfreezes.
Wifi should never be 5 bars, it's never good...
Wanting lagless experience isn't for high level players, it's for everyone...

Big freezes are people with PC issue (framedrops)

Slowmo is people not having 60 fps or enough bandwidth.

Network instability is only for people too far from each other or living in the middle of nowhere.

Peer to peer is the lowest ping for 1v1, you don't need servers...

5 Mbps ethernet is enough for any online game if you don't do something else aside...

I play vs wifi everytime it pops up and 90٪ of the time its totally fine. Ethernet is not always a realistic option. Yes drilling through walls or floors is always an optiom, but most people won't be doing that just to play a game online better

rollback netcode would help a lot. But the Japanese are not the most innovative people lately.

No, connection speed doesn't matter.
Interference is the issue and that will always happen with wifi.
By the nature of transmitting a signal over the air, there will be interference.
When the game has these small stutters, that's wifi.

And unlike mister Nugget up here is claiming, has been an issue since season 1.
The season 4 lag that he's referring to isn't a wifi issue, it's a game issue.
For some reason there has been massive freezes happening to many players since s4.
And if on one side the game randomly freezes, it will happen to both players.
That's not online lag, that's game lag.

So there is no interference in space? :o

Also no such thing as interference on Ethernet lines? UwU

Nope. Thats why Elon musk is building star link. Fast internet from space.

Fool. Allow me to blow your mind with a bit of potentially earth-shattering information;

Fiber Optics are a type of network cable. WiFi stands for "Wireless" Fidelity.
The cables aren't responsible for a WiFi's connection speed, bEcAuSe WiFi Is WiReLeSs.

There is an awful lot of misinformation in this thread. Lag occurs from non-reliable connections. Reliability is more important than speed, but having a download and upload speed of at least 10mbps should be fine. The connections that are not reliable tend to drop a lot of packets. When packets are dropped lag occurs. Wifi does have a lot of interference, especially in urban areas, but ethernet cables can also have a great deal of interference if they are not shielded ethernet cables. Cat 5e, 6e, and 7e are all shielded variants of ethernet cables.

There can be interference in space. There doesn't need to be an atmosphere for wireless transport to occur, and there are thousands of satelites in low orbit. How else would the moon landing have been so coordinated ?

Connection speed, the distance between you and the server, interference, and connection reliability all play a major role in what causes lag. The type of internet you are paying for will also determine latency. Most satellite ISP have extremely high latency due to outdated protocols, the distance your data has to travel, and interference. Broadband is better than satellite, and fiber is better than broadband.
