Tekken has always been about free expression. There is no universally correct way to get up. Use whatever is at your disposal, though your decisions may be influenced by your opponent's Oki habits, the distance between you and your opponent, and whether or not you are up against the wall.

A user named Jericho shared the techroll options in an older post:

When on the ground:
1. You can roll into the foreground with d1 or into the background with 1
2. Pressing db when on the ground lets you go into crouch allowing you to block lows and duck highs.
3. Pressing 4 allow you to stand up and hit your opponent with a right kick.
4. Pressing 3 allows you to do a low kick.
5. Pressing d3 lets you do a "get off me" kick which is faster than normal 3 and 4 but shorter range I think.
6. Pressing 3 + 4 lets you do a springkick (though be aware some characters don't have a spring kick and instead just gets up)
7. If you hold forward and press 1 + 2 you do a forward roll attack. If you just hold forward you just roll.
8. If you press u, you just do a normal standup. If press u AND then press back you block while standing. Though it takes a bit time to get up into standing. Maybe a bit more compared to crouch block when waking from ground.

very situational, in most cases I tech roll or d1 into b. some chars have unique ways to get out of jail, like during FUFA Alisa can use 1+2 to fly, then press 3 to flee away
sometime u want/need ur opponent to hit u a little when ure otg so u can tech a bit far from ur opponent (safer condition)
1. You can roll into the foreground with d1 or into the background with 1
I always jam on 1 and press back to get up but it seems holding DB might be a better option

3. Pressing 4 allow you to stand up and hit your opponent with a right kick.
4. Pressing 3 allows you to do a low kick.
low parry on wake up 3 must be demoralizing, is 4 safe if blocked?

6. Pressing 3 + 4 lets you do a springkick (though be aware some characters don't have a spring kick and instead just gets up)
some people have spring kick fever

7. If you hold forward and press 1 + 2 you do a forward roll attack. If you just hold forward you just roll.

The forward roll is so terrible that people such as Steve get an unblockable jab after it's blocked

5. Pressing d3 lets you do a "get off me" kick which is faster than normal 3 and 4 but shorter range I think.

I think recovery on this on is specially bad though

8. If you press u, you just do a normal standup. If press u AND then press back you block while standing. Though it takes a bit time to get up into standing. Maybe a bit more compared to crouch block when waking from ground.

Sounds like a bad option but you say db is faster than stand then b? I'm going to start to hold DB after 1 or d1 and see if it's better faster or safer than what I was doing before

very situational, in most cases I tech roll or d1 into b. some chars have unique ways to get out of jail, like during FUFA Alisa can use 1+2 to fly, then press 3 to flee away
sometime u want/need ur opponent to hit u a little when ure otg so u can tech a bit far from ur opponent (safer condition)

thanks , this is my exact regular pattern I wasn't sure if b after d1 was the OPTIMAL choice I cap cause that's what I'm looking for, what't he most " optimal way " to get up

timing is also important, most ppl tend to try catching your wake up.

sometimes its better idea to just lie down for a while, wait for their whiff and wake punish them
If you are gonna lay down you better be ready for the tech roll you get off the hit which I don't catch cause I don't understand the timing

The art of war is deception
so yes being knocked down leads to a 50/50 wr and mixups
a wall bounce also can be timed
there is a laying down game to this game

There isn’t really a correct way to wake up. It all depends on the matchup and the player. For an example let’s use Kazuya. Kazuya has a very good Okizeme setup.

If you just lay on the ground he can hit you with his Demon Steel Pedal which also sets up another Okizeme.

You can just get up (by holding up or back) but that will lead into a 50/50 mixup. Another option is to quickly roll then get up. If you’re lucky you might be able to avoid both if you time your roll and get up correctly.

All in all… it depends.

I wonder though. Is there a wake up where you quickly spring up to your feet after the opponent knocks you down causing you to roll on the ground backwards?

yes but its situational hold back as you get knocked back, and thats if you are facing the opponent I think Law's b3+4 hit can show it.

You can also control the speed of the kipup f before landing by guarding after using it so f,b.
