I think it would have to be a remastering which would be hype too.
But here's why they probably shouldn't do it, PC is a new market for Tekken, i don't think this release is going to have any sort of cross platform play, so while the Steam discussions seem to indicate a lot of buzz for this version i'm not sure there's enough of us to maintain a presence on both games.
A year or two ago would have been great, enough time to want the new game, they could also still port it a couple years from now, a classic release brought to PC where it can be archived and loved forever by its fans, but it might be best for our community if we focus on one game at this point... but MAN i love TTT2.
He said that TTT2 was originally made with Arcade and PS3 hardware in mind. It was later down the line they committed to a 360 port, and porting it was a long and difficult process, with a lot of platform-specific optimisations necessary. This was the fault of the in-house engine that had all sorts of hacks to get the most out of those outdated platforms.
That's partly why he chose Unreal Engine 4, to lower the cost of supporting multiple platforms. Alas, this almost certainly means we won't see TTT2 on either PC or current-gen consoles.
Sorry for the Cruise Control...
We might see Tag 3 on the PS5.
I just realized this is 6 years old thread now.
