I maintain a equal usage rate with 3 characters and my worst (DVJ) and best (Law) performing character are 20% appart winrate wise.
Look, in Green ranks, and hell, all the way up to Red ranks, you can climb only by knowing your character, that's all you need, because just as you don't know their character, they don't know your's. You can steal them with mix-ups, poke them to hell and back with strings and solid moves, frame trap them into those ch launchers that TMM claims he could talk for hours about.
Bottom line is that in those lose ranks, it's all on you. If you lose, you gotta learn your character better.
If any of you were any decent, not good, just decent, you'd be out of green ranks like it's nothing, all you need is to learn your own character.
If you're stuck there it's because you're bad, this is just a case of pots and kettles. You're playing a character that has everything, Jin has no exploitable weaknesses, so the same "you would be half as good" talk applies to you too.
I know it can be frustrating and what not, so you try to complain about others and let off some steam that way, but don't become a TMM fanboy. If you're tired of dealing with the green ranks, get out of the green ranks, it's that easy.
Kinda the reason mains and subs exist to begin with.
It's like that meme...
"You're bad with Bryan. I'm bad with Lee. We're not the same"
Some characters just forgive too much mistakes, while also giving you a bunch of easy-to-execute flowcharst that are much harder to avoid and punish than to perform.
It's less noticable on high-level play. But on mid or begginer it's there.
Mate, trust me, he's in Green ranks, nobody knows what they are doing in that rank. You can have the most spammy Hwoarang ever, put him under pressure and you go through his life bar like a hot knife through butter.
Up until the Red ranks, you can win most of your games solely by knowing your own character and how to do some basic pressure. Will you lose some games to some one and done cheese? Sure, but that still won't affect the climb because you'll still be able to win most of your games just by knowing how to play your own character.
If he starts mashing some 50-50s between Hellsweep and left electric, maybe a few strings from Jin, he'd be out of Green rank faster than you can say "Kazuya is overrated", because guess what, just as how nobody knows how to deal with Xiaoyu or Chloe or Kunimitsu or you name it down there, nobody knows how to deal with Jin either. Do a frame trap into m4, 99% of the time you'll get a ch, because people down there can't stop mashing.
People should focus on their own character and their own play, especially Green ranks. If they start going TMM mode from now, they'll never improve because there's always going to be something to complain about.
Knowledge checks are just that, knowledge checks. You lose to them, learn and best them next time.
Please tell me what move gives you exactly 3 frames to step and punish it?
