Does tekken tag tournament 2 have the same gameplay as tekken 7?

(sorry for the crappy english, i'm french.)
So, i'm super hyper for tekken 7, but the problem is i never really been a tekken player, i only play tekken 3 a longue time ago, so i don't really know how to play except for the character Yoshimitsu because i'm a long time soulcalibur fan. (and yoshi is one of my mains in it )
So, a friend of mine give me tekken tag tournament 2, the question is, is the gameplay the same as tekken 7 ? so that i can find a character that i can play well who is in both games. (except yoshi...well i hope, even if i'm pretty good with him in all of the soulcalibur, he start to get me a little bored because i main him for now 11 years.)

Character knowledge from TTT2 will transfer over to Tekken 7 easily. The games themselves do have some pretty big differences but overall they both play like Tekken. If you pick up a character in TTT2 you will have no issue playing them in Tekken 7.

TTT2 actually gives you the option to play with just one character instead of two. I've been playing solo mode TTT2 to prepare for T7 myself.

Only thing really different is the bound. It's now a tail spin and they changed/added moves to champs
