Guide (keyboard): NEVER miss an EWGF again
That trick should help you with any move that requires pressing a movement and an attack at the same time (and maybe with other stuff aswell)

Disclaimers -
  • I don't play Mishimas at all but I've found that trick really helps with the execution.
  • Maybe Namco will remove the support for it in later versions (seems little op tbh..)

Short version - for each movement you can have 2 buttons (so except the a,s,w,d you can also have o,l,y,h) so if your RP is mapped to 'i' you put the second forward movement on 'o' and then you can press forward and RP with the same hand (hell even with the same finger if your finger is big enough)

that makes the "Electric" part extremely(!) easy.

Instructions -
  • In the options -> controller setup make sure you have set that you can use 2 movements inputs in the "character movement", basically do this picture - https://imgur.com/a/o8KlgN6

  • In options -> button mapping -> Keyboard controller 1 settings set all the "LS" buttons and make sure that the 'forward' button (if you player 1 it's 'right') is near the RP button, e.g - in my case my RP is 'i' so I put the "LS" 'right' on 'o' button (you have to set the rest of the "LS" buttons in order for it to work, set them to whatever), basically do this pic https://imgur.com/a/atlJAsu

  • You are all set, go to practice pick Mishima, for EWGF you need to do f, *, D, f+2 in my keyboard setup I need to press the following buttons d, *, S, i+o

Welcome to the MixBox. Well done.

Isnt that similar to a poor man's macro? I don't quite get the reasoning. Why not just practice it like everyone else?

That MixBox thing don't seems to have multiple movement buttons, only the arrows one. In keyboard I can have 'right' direction to be on 3 different buttons.

About the macro - macro is cheating and way more stronger, that trick only makes EWGF as easy as WGF, but I do get your point that it feels like cheating (exploiting some bug (if it is a bug..) they have in the design regarding to keyboards) making the EWGF so easy..

About the practice thing - I don't really need it on my char (Xiaoyu) so I don't use it, just wanted to showcase some of the abilities of the keyboard (I do think, as I said in my post, that the trick is little op and there is a chance that Namco will remove it, so personally I won't advise people to get used to it..).

Don't really think that this is a bug since this even works in Tekken 8. Having mapped LS> to O makes EWGF a piece of cake still lol

However, this of course still falls flat if your sides are swapped. Perhaps 8 on your keyboard could be an idea for LS< when pointing left?

First of all, you necroed an, in a couple weeks, 5 year old thread.

Second, this only works if you never plan to play in any tournament, especially offline. Online ranked, QM and such can't really stop you from doing this, but in offline events, the rules actually say you can only have 1 button for each of the 4 directions, so you can't have 2 left and 2 right, which this method requires.
Make otgf -9 pls Dec 31, 2023 @ 5:33am
This is the forbidden technique lmao i think most people on keyboard know about it but do you enjoy playing mishimas with 90% consistent ewgf no effort?

Also literally after playing this game for hundreds of hours ewgf at least on one side should be like a one button input for you thanks to muscle memory

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
