PS5 controller.
Does anyone use this for Tekken 7 on PC? Just wondering how it is as I am looking for a new controller.

You need to try it for yourself. The PS5 is a bit girthy. Some like it some hate it. I prefer a DS3 pad because of the flat surface on the dpad

Well, I currently use the Xbox ONE controller and although it works very well, I'm finding that the buttons are a little too firm, which I believe is causing me to drop combos occasionally. Particularly on combos, such as 1,1,2,1 where I will sometimes find that I'm dropping it by pressing 1,2,1 instead of 1,1,2,1. Also similar situations with the D-Pad.

The PS4 controller would be ideal for me, but I am not keen on the shape. I ask about the PS5 controller specifically because it's a similar shape to the Xbox ONE controller, if it has soft buttons and D-Pad like the PS4 controller I would assume it's ideal for me.

I find the PS5 controller a bit too large, the PS4 controller is the perfect size for me. When it comes to fighting games it's all about what you're most comfortable with - for example I find Xbox controllers as easy to handle as a very angry cat. It's hard to give meaningful advice beyond suggesting you try one out. Do you have any friends who own one?

I prefer PS4 controller (DualShock4) over PS5 one (DualSense).
Battery consumption is issue too.

I use pad for RPG, but I use hitbox for fighting games. I'm not good at diagonal input with pad.

If you prefer something exotic, check out the Hori Fighting Commander I thinks it#s is name. Is a DPAD and has 6 Buttons front and 2 shoulder buttons. It's like a mini Mixbox with DPAD. Also pretty affordable. But as I wrote, you need to test them but I feel for you, the Xbox controller is great for everything except for fighting games. Try amazon, you can return the pads if you don't like em.
Just started using the ps5 pad I don't personally like it as much as my old ps4 one but it gets the job done.

Are the buttons the same as on the PS4 controller in terms of how easy to press?

They are quieter but easy to click. I should also mention that the d pad is kinda sensitive so be careful with movement also it comes with a built in mic that you can disable on your computers sound control panel.

Dude, what region do you live? If you are close to me (germany) I can show you different controller, Hitboxes, Mixboxes, Sticks and a strange turn stuff which came with Ridge Racer back in the days.

I have switched to stick. Still learning
I've been using one for quite along time but this the first I have used it for a fighting game. I slowly realized that the d pad isn't the best for me. Got a hitbox and never touched the ps5 controller again.

Eh, it doesn't matter which controller you use if you're just going to spam random moves.
