Black Screen after "Press Any Button"
Same as the title, i have tried what feels like the gauntlet. Working with an AMD Radeon RX 560, and i have managed to get the game working and playing before. Not sure what the issue might be, i have tried running it windowed, uninstalling and reinstalling (twice) and verifying local game files (twice). I am really at the end of my rope here. Any advice would be extremely helpful. Thank you!

I'm getting a black screen on exiting (from the main menu or pressing ALT F4), also I can't change the game to windowed/borderless otherwise I also get the black screen. Everytime I get the black screen it actually locks up my PC and I have to force a restart.

I'm on an RX580 with the latest drivers. I did manage to get it to run and was able to exit properly using the standard windows drivers but I need the updated ones obviously for newer games. No issues with any other game and Tekken actually runs I just can't do anything mentioned above. Gave up and uninstalled.

What happens if you reset the graphic options from within the game?
I'm asking because the game safe files and the install data are not in the same folder.
You could also could copy the safe file from c:user/username/appdata/local/tekkengame on to another drive and delete the one from c. Then you could try run the game after a fresh install to see if it is a setting that causes the issues.
I run tekken in full screen and default is windows borderless i believe.

Thing is, I can't get into the main menu of the game to even change certain settings. I have yet to try a combination of Saved folder deletion and a fresh install, so i'll give that a try. Thank you!

The black screen issue I'm facing has never locked up my PC, and it isn't linked to exiting. My issue begins before I even get to the Main Menu of the game. It also doesn't seem to be linked to a windowed or full screen format for me either, as I have tried it both ways and the issue still occurs.

If the fresh install does not resove the issue, you might want to check the scaling settings of your graphics card. If you go to the folder where the game data is saved steam/steamapps/common/tekken7 you will find the tekken 7 exe. Do a right click to look at the settings and under compatibility you will find a full screen optimization from windows, you might want to deactivate for tekken. Could be that the windows scaling and your GPU don't get along right now.

Also did you check if you have any power issues? The scrict power settings from some graphic cards or windows iteself can cause some issues, especially if you play on high resolution and/ or 2 monitos.

If I still have an issue after this install, I'll be sure to try what you recommended. How would I check power stats? I only have a single monitor setup currently, and I have not had any issues like this except with Tekken 7

I don't use an AMD GPU right now, so i cant tell you the options you got in your driver settings.
You don't need to know how much energie your GPU gets, you only need to make surem that the GPU is not set on some heavy power saving setting. Something like adaptive that regulate how much power the GPU really needs, is much better than strict power saving.

I did not do any research yet, but if you still having issues after this, you might want to search in the discussion or on google for your graphics card + tekken 7 + black screen.

Still no success, im to the point i might contact support for Bamco or Valve and see about a refund. I feel so worn down from trying dozens of "solutions" and still experiencing the same issue.

The most frustrating thing is that it HAS worked before, i legitimately have no clue as to what factors have changed that it doesnt work every time.

If you go to c:user/username/appdata/local/tekkengame/saved/config/windowsnoeditor you will find a bunch of ini files.
If you open the one called GameUserSettings with editor does it look like this ?

[/script/engine.gameusersettings]
LastUserConfirmedResolutionSizeX=0
LastUserConfirmedResolutionSizeY=0
WindowPosX=0
WindowPosY=0
bUseDesktopResolutionForFullscreen=False
LastConfirmedFullscreenMode=0
PreferredFullscreenMode=0
Version=5
AudioQualityLevel=0
FrameRateLimit=0.000000
DesiredScreenWidth=1280
bUseDesiredScreenHeight=False
DesiredScreenHeight=720
LastRecommendedScreenWidth=-1.000000
LastRecommendedScreenHeight=-1.000000
LastCPUBenchmarkResult=-1.000000
LastGPUBenchmarkResult=-1.000000
LastGPUBenchmarkMultiplier=1.000000

[ScalabilityGroups]
sg.ShadowQuality=3
sg.PostProcessQuality=3
sg.TextureQuality=3
sg.EffectsQuality=3
sg.ResolutionQuality=200.000000

You could adjust the full screen stuff and the resolution if necessary.

If this doesn't change anything, open the Scalability and copy FullscreenMode=False in the file, than save it and do a right click on the Scalability file and click on write protected or whatever it is called in english. :P The file should be a read only.

Do you have something plugged on your PC if you start the game? I would remove everything you don't need to start up the game, even the control, stick whatever, maybe even the keyboard.

If you look up on google for tekken 7 black screen, there are some videos or posts, that contain files that are promissed to help. I don't know if this is real or just a virus bait. :/

No solution in this thread worked, I'm in contact with Bamco support so we'll see what happens.
Musashi Nov 18, 2019 @ 9:49am
Sorry to hear that none of our sugesstions helped. :/

While you wait for the Bamco support, you could go back to an older GPU drivers version, the one that worked for you in the past, so you might actually get some gameplay in, or if your lucky can adjust the game from the menu in a way that also the new drivers work. :)

Also as a bonus info, tekken7 and windows have sometimes issues with usb devices. I would recomment that you unplugg every usb device from your pc when playing tekken, even they keyboard. Did you every try that? Oo

Some people did go as far as uninstalling every usb device they don't currently use, which is not a bad idea in general with windows.

I'll give the unplugging a go on this next boot! If I can't manage to get it going even after some more tries, I'll rollback on updates.
