I also hate his chara-design.
So in Tekken, I simply cannot stand fighting that dude lol
And that's exactly what happened with Noctis; A character who fights in a way people have never seen, that doesn't fit alot and has a gameplay style that isn't something you would see every day in a fighting game. Not only that, he's a very beginner friendly character, as well. So there's not much effort you need to put in when it comes to learning him or playing as him.
Yeah I feel that he was added just to get "free" publicity for Tekken. I guess he was never even meant to be a complete character.
But that doesnt mean Noctis is not a pain too... the character has strong long range lows and mids, and his pressure isnt bad, he has a demo man and a full screen whiff punish tool.
