I think the matchmaking is horrible
I can't get matched with someone lower than 1000 wins when I have 1. For gods sake it just makes you not want to bother with the game. Is it really that impossible to find someone in a simillar skill level?

Man, you'll be surprised, but if you're on low level and facing someone with 1000 wins - he's most probably be even worse than you do. Usually people with 1000 wins either learning something and start ot go high ranks (red and above), or stay as they are now +- 1 rank. So don't be frustrated.

It's hard to when I get 0-3 and I feel like I can't even stand a chance. and I don't want to spend all day sitting in a training room wishing one day I'll be blessed to be allowed to play with the big boys. I want to find someone that is the same skill level as me and fight knowing I stand a chance and haven't lost just because of experience difference

so you're pissed because you get 3-0'ed, but don't want to put in any effort... but want the same results as someone who did...
Online you will rarely find complete mashers, even the worst players have a basic understanding of the game, if you go online and expect to win you're in for a bad ride, but if you're ready to learn then there's a lot to enjoy in tekken.
As ARTSQ said a player with 1000 victories still in silver/blue ranks has the same (if not worse) skills than you, no amount of experience will cover his lack of knowledge/skills.

You don't sit in a training room and wish. You train.

Are you playing ranked? It's a good online mode for beginners. There you can only get matched with people of a similar rank. And you don't have anything to lose cos you are already on the lowest rank.
yup yup Dec 18, 2018 @ 7:04am
In ranked you can get matched with opponents close to your level

Lmao I knew saying that 1 thing will trigger so many people so hard. And the best part is you didn't even properly read what I said. I said I want to be able to find someone the same level as me without having to grind day in and day out before I am allowed to play online, not to be able to be given a free win on a silver platter because I don't want to learn.

I want to learn and I am trying. But give me someone at my skill level to apply my new lessons and not get an L because I am on lesson 5 and the guy I am fighting is on lesson 500

Have not tried ranked since I expected it to be even higher level players

If you have thousands of wins in unranked with your main being like green or yellow rank, I have 0 respect for you. It's only good to get the hang of new characters for a while. Do yourself a favor and play ranked. People cheese there too of course but the game changes when you play for something.
In ranked if you find someone low rank with thousands of wins, that just means they're bad and you can beat them too.
But in unranked you never know cuz these cowards won't leave their safe space.
Man, you know you kinda insulted all of normal players as well? For instance, myself.
I've played ranked a lot. But when I want just to have some fun without risk of being demoted from my hard-earned rank just because I've slept about 3 hours today - I go quick. Or when I learn a new char. Or just trying to recall moves from old one I haven't play for some time. Or want to find someone much higher level than I do to learn something and check my own level not limited by same rank.

So far it seems like you have no respect to anyone at all - you just like to brag about how important, brave and powerfull you are.

No I respect people who play ranked and/or go to tournaments. Either one is fine since not everyone can go to tournaments. I already said that unranked has uses but I don't respect people that hang there exclusively. To me those are just people that are too afraid of a real match.
Of course you can go unranked for specific reasons but if you only ever hit that unranked button, you've probably gotta work on that ladder anxiety. Quit your stupid safe space and play ranked.
Man, that's kinda childish, you know? There're plenty of reasons to not play in ranked. People might just not be interested in ranked at all - just having fun with the GAME!
On the other hand, we have all those ranked players who's aftraid for their rank so much they will never risk to make a first move, try to poke in neutral games and etc. Should we respect them? Or disrespect them? That's kinda cowardness too, you know.

Seriously, there are only 2 kinds of people in this game who I would disrespect: boosters aka "play rematch only until you're winning" and those who's doing KI-charges after each victory. Well, maybe some of Noctis mains as well :) All others - hell, until they are having fun and not really obstructing others progression and fun, let them be.

People are free to do whatever they want except harm others or cheat.

If you're not intersted in ranked there's gotta be a reason for that right? So why wouldn't you be? My guess is that most people are just afraid of feeling bad when they lose. I see this so much even with people that do play ranked. They get a new rank and stop playing cuz they're afraid of losing it again. I don't think it's bad to have these feelings but staying in unranked to avoid them is not the right way.
You can have fun in ranked just as much. I mean... it's exactly the same game right? People that can only have fun in unranked but not in ranked don't really enjoy the game. They just suck at losing and choose the easier of the two. Where a loss hurts less. I can have fun in ranked and in unranked but ultimately ranked is the better experience which is why I stick to it.

The way you describe ranked play is exactly why ranked is better and why unranked is such a bad place for improving. Poking, zoning, defense is the meat of this game. Not throwing out random unsafe moves and praying to god your opponent doesn't know how to punish them.
But that's kinda the mindset of many people in unranked which makes it a terrible place for improving.

I only started thinking this way after I went to my first few offlines.
And although ranked is obviously not perfect for preparing you for offline, it's about 200% more effective in doing so than unranked is.
thats actually the mindset of people in ranked. and when it doesnt work out they leave after one loss while in unranked people tend to stick longer so you actually can play that person/matchup more then in a one and done set.

I have probably played a lot more unranked matches than raked but not because I am coward but I am the type of player who just stresses too much about looking at these tokens and win loss stats while going back and forth between ranks. I just wanna play without "consequences" while keep my "well earned" ranks.

I play ranked when I wanna test if I have improved or not so I know what rank I belong to but in s2 ranks are very mixed so I won't look down on anyone who are only "warrior" with 5000 win at quick match because maybe he is better than me. I judge the players by their skills and tactics they use instead of their "numbers" and ranks.

Btw I got also an accusation from a salty player(added me just to wish me nice things) at quick match that I play there to beat rookies . Its funny because my win/loss stat is a lot worse at quick match than at ranked because I keep rematching against better players. I don't lab characters in pratice mode I am playing unranked instead and try to find out things there .

Mate, as with any theory, problem here is not within your arguments - it's within base axioms of theory. You're presuming that everyone just want to go for offline tournaments while they are not.
Sometimes people just having fun, even with throwin those random hugely unsafe launchers. That's not a big deal - at least you have a chance to learn how to counter them. Or just do the same and have some couch-like gameplay withou any restrictions.

Meanwhile, in rank you face 9 out of 10 quitters just because they don't want to lose their ranks as well - and spending more time in the Training Purgatory than in match.
And regarding "meat of the game"... IDK how high your rank is, but here on Red ranks I'm mostly observing either full turtle or full spam.
I've grown tired of same excercise - open the turtle that has 80% less health than you do or just waste about 40 seconds of your life to wait for time expire. It's not as funny as you think, even in case of winning, at least for me personally.
So ranked has pretty much of downsides as well - as would any highly-competitive game would do.
It's up to you to descide what you like more, ofc. Just do not go for such blind blaming upon those who might just not share your hunger for ceompetition :) Again - they are just playing in quicks and do waaaaaay less harm than 2-buttons Noctis player or lag-switcher in ranked.
