How are ranked points calculated?

So i know the game doesn't like my playstyle, now i'm not the best player ever, but i am certainly no bad player, in fact i am quite honourable and i prefer my opponents on their feet, or at least able to do something.

When i win, i get +50 points, even against Tekken Gods (i can barely stick in the green), if i lose, i get -1500 points... are you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ kidding me?!

The thing is i don't like juggles and rage moves, i don't like doing it, i don't like when the opponent does it, i think it destroys any possibility of a decent fight. These are desperate moves, only to be reserved for desperate situations, not to be your default repertoire.

Is it me not understanding the game, or is the game rewarding bad gameplay?

I hate T7 so much you cannot imagine how dissapointed i am in so many things, i wanna go back to T6, or TT2.

Anyway, i want to know more about the points, just for curiosity sake, cause the explanation i read doesn't hold up.

Allright, so i see the numbers, i get that, but why...

Am i stupid or is it a stupid system? I am seriously confused as to why it works the way it does.

I guess i know what to do, but why though?

I'd just suggest to move on to another game if you hate T7. There are plenty of other games to play, even in the fighting game genre. Don't get down with the sickness mate.

Stopped playing SF after III, stopped playing VF and MK after 4, i gave all my 2D fighters away when my PS2 broke down, got a couple of other 2D fighters on steam i rarely touch, i might pick up DOA5 again but i'm not huge on the fighting mechanics though boobies are a plus.

I kinda knew they were up to something when they had this weird free version of Tekken on the playstore, honestly i just want to play T6 again, thats my love, my baby.

Presumably to stop boosters. I guess the fact that you can just cheat your rank to TGO makes that a pretty pointless consideration.

You aren't losing 1500 points against TGOs as a green rank, however. The more characters your opponent has at high ranks, the less points you will lose. In the unlikely scenario where a Fujin+ gets ranked against a green, the green rank will lose basically nothing.

It's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid system. You also gain more points than lost until Fujin, which pretty much pushes EVERYONE to Fujin over time.

It doesn't really. Fujin+ still only accounts for a tiny portion of the playerbase.

I had to look up the word booster, but this is why i said in another thread that ranked should not allow for rematches, there should be no competition that allows for rematches as certain players prey on the weak, stupid and careless.

Ranked, i misunderstand rankings completely, i'll give you that.

I did change my settings from 'all' to 2+, i do notice a big difference in points. I've always had my setting to 'all' with the assumption that it would only affect the matchmaking.
