The Hard Truth About Leroy
What are your guys' thoughts on Leroy? Personally, even though he looks cool, I think that he's probably the biggest let down I've seen in Tekken in terms of gameplay. When the dust settles and the game is patched, I bet the conversation is gonna shift away from Leroy being OP, and people are going to see just how lazy this character really is.

In his trailers, he seemed like he was going to be a highly technical specialist character with a lot of opportunities for style. Instead what we got was another shaheen, claudio, kazumi, katarina, etc. -- boring, one-dimensional noob pick-up character with no variety that is ridiculously easy to play and lame. On top of that, half of his virtually non-existent movelist (including his 1 stance) is literally just recycled from other characters and made better for some reason. His stance low parry is effectively identical to negan's and anna's, except that it it doesn't automatically launch. Wow, how exciting. You could literally get rid of his parry, which takes zero execution or skill to use just like all of his other moves, and which seemed like it would be a major part of his gameplay, and he would still be pretty much the same braindead character. A literal ape could pick him up day 1 and win games with him online. It's such a shame too, he had the potential to be so much cooler and more interesting than he is.

I wish Bamco would literally just completely rework the character at this point, what a disappointment.

Not the first time, nor the last, that Bamco will release OP characters.
Especially now that they can be sold for extra money.
Leroy is just the 2nd top tiers DLC character (with Geese).
I hope Bandai wont nerf Leroy and Fakuram will be as strong as Leroy.
I was ready to stop to play Tekken, bored to fight all the time with Dragunov, Geese, Steeve, Kazumi etc... top DLC character refresh the franchise, and that"s a really good idea from Bandai.

Completely disagree with everything here. Bamco should never set out to release a super powerful dlc character, if anything they should be on the side of making them underpowered and slowly buffing them. With Leroy, tekken is at the lowest point I've ever seen, because Leroy is much more op than any of the characters you mentioned were at their highest point. The game is broken at the moment, something that wouldn't happen if leroy started off way less strong.

@Nerf Leroy Pls, Thanks
What to you prefer ? A Tekken 8 with the old Top Tiers Dragunov, Geese, Steeve, Kazumi, Akuma, etc... or Tekken 7 with new top tiers DLC characters ?
Tekken 8 for veterans or a long life Tekken 7 with always new things to learn ?
Bandai choosed the second option and I aproove.

Top tier dlc "characters"? Buddy, even if ganryu is top tier, he doesn't even touch Leroy. Even worse, Leroy is hilariously easy to play, as I mentioned above and for the reasons I have said a thousand times. Don't even pretend like season 2 was nearly as imbalanced as the game is right now, because as I said before even at their peak, the top characters in season 2 were not even close to as dominant as Leroy is right now, and a lot of them are specialist characters due to how hard they are to play. Go into practice mode right now and try to do akuma's bnb off of d2 with 1 bar (d2 fireball FADC b1 df3 S! df3 1 . . .). It will take you hours, if not days, to get down, if you can even get it down perfectly at all. Even top players drop this all the time. Compare this now to Leroy, whose bnb combos you could literally teach an ape how to do they are so laughably easy and do unreal amounts of damage. Now which of these characters would you rather lose to? One who nobody plays, especially online, or one I could teach my 6 year old cousin how to play and is absurdly common online (and soon to be in tournaments).

So essentially what you're asking is, do I prefer season 2 over 3, and right now the answer is a resounding yes. I would be super happy if leroy was literally removed from the game entirely, because I think it would be a net positive.
