lei is awesome
all kinds of hats
I appreciate that. Im just trying to be realistic with myself. I was actually thinking of changing to a different character that can challenge me where I'm forced to play in such a way that I don't become flowcharts. I mean I'll still play lei for sure, but he can be boring sometimes even if you win with him.
And yeah I can definitely see him being too cheesy.
Lei is one of "lab character"
it means to fight him, you have to buy him, and lab him to know what he can do
Lei isn't kind of typical characters who has 15-20 key moves and you can deal with him after 2-3 fight
iirc he has longest move list in the game
even I have 1000+ hrs. in this game, I still have a very hard time fighting average Lei player
Lei it's and old character with clucky stance mechanics. The neutral sucks compared to other characters, he has bad poke, no frame advantage. bad strings on neutral and some stance have a risky 50/50. Entering stance form razor rush is good only against newbie because he is in -frame even on hit (but the first punch) and you can hit every time.
He is a character relying mainly on the opponent's ignorance but it still has some good moves like db44, ff4, SS4, razor rush, uf3.
Lost 0-5 welp
But in that context, Im sure if u win by flowcharting and gimmicks without fundamentals u will struggle against players who knows how to shut down your gimmicks.
So in my opinion, they are cheap, but being strong depends on the player u fight. They dont know the match up? That's not what makes a char strong.
But can u win against stronger opponents using him? That defines how strong your char is.
Also, 1k hours means nothing on player's skill btw.
