Why nerf Steve, but not Hworang?

Comon, people complain Steve was spam-safe-friendly with his df2 ( it was rubbish before a patch, and a lot of pro players used to drop the combo, cause it was super hard and not very rewarding anyway ), but we keep spammy Hwo as he is even tho his flow seems to have no gaps most of the time. Also it have a shield move that fkin string into a easy juggles. Comon now, what is the argument here?

Hwoarang isn't strong right now, that's why

Steve's entire existence revolved around b+1 and d/f+2, so they made Steve players have to fire a few more synapses to play the character, that's all

Hwoarang has, contrary to popular opinion, ALWAYS been mid tier, in every game he has been in

Hwoarang might have confusing offence and good frame data on his pressure strings, but like any good problem, there are solutions to everything he does. Whoarang is like a minigame inside Tekken, and the vast majority of players don't know how to "learn a matchup" for even basic character interactions, so they feel like he's incredibly hard to fight despite not even being all that good

Steve was miles better than Hwoarang, he deserved the nerf. Hwoarang has more than enough gaps if you simply just took some minutes to learn what he can do from each stance.

You a Hworang main ? And i dont recall that your a pro. For normal players its annoying as hell. And he is super spam friendly if you cant sidetep like a real good player. Most Hworangs that i saw spam the same stuff over and over.

Don't get me wrong lads, I stand on more or less 70% win ratio against Hwo with my two mains ( King and Steve ). But the argument behind Steve nerf was spam. Hwo is spamy character, with a lot of tools to sustain the spam. I'm still salty about so many nerfs to Steve, even tho i dropped df2 after season 3 nerf. What really annoys me are f2 and df1 nerfs. I used those tools dude! These were perfectly fine.

I simply think no launcher should be armored. It is such a cheap mechanic. LIke if I could make a list of top3 things I hate in tekken 7, armored launcher would be there.

B1 and df2 were overdimensioned. They did literally everything at no risk. And covered each other perfectly. That’s why they were nerfed. Steve is still an insanely strong character, now you just need to read your opponent more instead of mindlessly relying on those 2 tools.

He’s a difficult character but his difficulty gets rewarded if played well. But calling him “dead” as some Steve players do is just an absolute joke.
