should I pickup Tekken 7
https://store.steampowered.com/app/389730/TEKKEN_7/

Or these new titles
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1342260/SAMURAI_SHODOWN/
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1384160/GUILTY_GEAR_STRIVE/
Both released at the same time, which one you suggest for people who are new to the series, and figthing games in general? The only fighting game that I ever played was Tekken in ps1 and ps2.

Looking for figthing game that are easiest to pickup for someone new in figthing game genre.

edit: thanks guys i ended up purchasing guilty gears strive

samurai shodown is the easiest by far

tekken is the most fun and deep where you can play pretty well as soon as you get some experience with the flow while still having huge depths to keep learning and getting better. Has way more visceral impact and moves than almost any other fighting game.

guilty gear is super fast and has much more difficult moves and combos to pull off combined with the screen just being a blur of a thousand graphic effects happening at once a lot of the time

tekken is my favorite by far

I don't say that it looks bad. Its just that the animations feel choppy so I guess they are not always 60fps (they remain in the same state for multiple frames I'm guessing - or does it not work like that?) so that saves some work but mostly its the 3D interactions that they don't have to bother with.
Arc Systems intentionally worked to avoid the smooth tweening that 3D animation does automatically in order to be able to do things like mimic hand drawn animation frame rates, hold on key frames and accentuate hit-stop. They even sometimes made entirely different models for certain instances of squash&stretch and motion blur. These were aesthetic choices done to maintain the feel of classic 2D fighting games and traditional animation. These were not shortcuts. They actually had to work harder to do this. From an animation standpoint, what they achieved is nothing short of mind blowing. The fact you thought it was 2D is a testament to what an amazing job they did. It's not until the camera rotates that it becomes apparent that these aren't drawings.
On the other hand, Tekken is a very good 3D fighter (arguably the best) but it is 'meh' aesthetically in comparison to GG Strive.

I really love the gameplay and most of the aesthetics of SamSho. It might be nostalgia for this old man, but It is by far my favorite character cast of the three. I love the high tension, high risk, high damage gameplay. Having studied kendo, the pacing of SamSho reminds me of the feel of a real duel. That said, it has notoriously awful online. Pretty close to unplayable unless playing next door to someone with a great wired connection. While mostly aesthetically solid, SamSho has some glaring instances of SNK skimping in the art department, when it comes to some of the visual content. "Yes I'm talking about you, waterfalls and goofy bear standing in the background!"
Tekken has a solid longterm player base and an entirely different feel than SamSho and Guilty Gear. It sometimes feels more like playing Dance Dance Revolution to me than a 2D fighter does, but it is obviously very deep at high level. It's just a different sub-genre than GG and SamSho, and I am more of an old school 2D guy.
This is probably an unpopular opinion, but I don't like GG's gameplay quite as much as SamSho's, but I like it much more than Tekken's. I also don't like GGs character designs quite as much as SamShos (they are a little too 'out there' to be relatable) , but certainly way more than Tekken's. On the other hand GG is beautiful from a pure animation standpoint. Not a corner was cut making GGs art assets look dope as all hell. Finally GG's online is about as good as it gets. Ultimately, I think GG is the best choice. If Sam Sho had good netcode (which it certainly doesn't) i might recommend that.
pick gg if u wanna make ur brain smoother

Everyone says Linux is the better, but I would still go for Windows.

Same as Tekken. Ive bought the game in Season 1 release. Best fighting game ever. Life was good at the time, I bought Season 2 as well. Bought Season 3 on sale during pandemic.

I havent bought Season 4 and no plan. Im happy with Asuka, Julia and Xiaoyu.

However, I recommend to buy the base game on sale to compensate for the DLC bs.

I had played some fighting games like Street Fighter, FighterZ and Soul Calibur. A friend also gifted me the old version of Guilty Gear. But so far Tekken for me. No one can beat it no matter what they say.
