Ur using drag? Hes weak againts mishimas or any characters with heavy jabs 1.1.2 punish! Best to just let kaz player finish the string with kaz just launch that ♥♥♥♥♥ in the air! df2 or 1

  • Sidewalk left all day: Utilize that, time it, on him coming in.
  • Don't let him use 50/50. Takes 20 frames to come out. Pressure Kazuya with strong poking all day long.
  • If not pressuring, keep him away. He's not very strong at (at range 2), he needs to come close with that slow 20 frame start-up.
  • If he knocks you down, stay on the ground. Stop mashing tech roll. Stay on the ground, force him to use ff4.
  • When you go in on Kazuya, find your high crush moves.
  • Be ready to 12 frame punish d/f2.
  • Don't use i13 frame lows because of Twin Pistons.

I'm not really afraid of his 1,1,2 string and 13 frame twin pistons, but i struggling with his keep-out for some reason (in fact after a few games I realized that the problem is not even in kazuya particularly, i just was salty). I'm trying to dash block to bait some moves and then use my keep-out tools (i use d/f+4 or b+4,3) or trying to whiff punish with qcf+1, qcf+2. Sounds like a good strategy (at least to me), but i keep failing with distance measuring. Stopping too close or too far or even getting clipped while dashing.

For kazumi i just went to training mode and made her repeat strings with 1, d/f+1 with side-steps after a random move. I found out that d+4 (razor too ofc) hit her right and left side-step pretty consistently. And if she does not side-step then d/f+1 is minus on block, so i just use 2,1.

If you're playing Dragunov, you should have no trouble closing the gap against Kazuya and most other characters. WR2 should do the job nicely. Once you're in Kazuya's face, the ball is usually in your court. With Kazumi pressure, you can try to use your punch counters and high crush moves against her and figuring out her patterns between d/f1, magic 4, her strings, and her lows. Sidestepping her works wonders and attacking her after she uses d/f1 works too. Hope this help.
Kazuya has weak crushing when using his key moves. Exceptions are High Crush: D 1+2, DB 3, fcDF 3+4 and Low Crush: U 3. Because his crushing is a little weak, using jabs and pokes to keep in him check are a good may to make sure he doesn't suddenly try and mix you up. The moves I mentioned are ok, however, you won't see Kazuyas mashing out those moves.

Yeah, that's great advice. It might just be me, but I personally like crushing in Tekken 7. It adds yet another fighting element to the game. Aside from that, I'd like to add is to look out for your opponent's key moves and adjust. Effective, simple, and basic strategy.

I agree. Crushing is a fine mechanic, but sometimes weirdly implemented on some characters. I'm probably just being biased but stuff like Paul's df2 high crushing for such a long window is weird to me.
