Fightstick recommendations?
I've been using a PS4 controller for Tekken for a while now and I notice I mis-input stuff often cause of the direction I hold my controller. Like if my controller isnt flat centered then I'll end up mis-inputing. So with that I think Im gonna invest in a fight stick. Whats a good one thats not too expensive? Somewhere between the 40-100 dollar range

Not gonna lie, if you spend less than 100 dollars on a stick, you're gonna get something that most people have never heard of

I have played on a lot of sticks in the last few years, and one of my favorites is the Qanba Obsidian. I am currently using a Razer Panthera as my main stick.

If you try to go sub 100 you will wind up with stuff like Mayflash or some other "non-mainstream" brand I have no experience with. I have seen people follow these recommendations and be happy with them, but arcade sticks are sorta like guitars, getting a well made quality item that makes it easy to learn with is worth the investment, and if you decide you don't like it, it keeps its value to other hobbyists so you can get almost all of your money back, maybe more.

Hmmm alright, I'll look into both of those then. I dont want to spend more than 100 cause Tekken is really the only fighting game Im interested in and 100+ spend on a game I wont play a whole lot doesn't seem worth it. I'll check out the Mayflash. That name sounds familiar anyways, thanks

get a mayflash f101 or f300
it's a good starter stick for what you're pay for.

(f101 is 39.99 with the f300 being 60.00)

Why even ask if you barely play?

I havent been playing as much mainly due to my controller. So thats why I was hoping to get a good deal with a Fightstick. I'd like to play this game much more but I want to get one first

Get something slightly more expensive than the mayflash300 like the Qanba Crystal($130) or Hori RAP4 Kai($150). The mayflash is only mentioned because of how cheap it is and if you end up enjoying the arcade stick you'll be happy you already have a decent stick to work with instead of a bread box.

Or, maybe you should just stick with the pad and save the money since you don't play much.

I'd suggest MayFlash F300 Elite ($89.99 on Amazon) with octagonal gate (SANWA GT-Y Octagonal Restrictor gate for JLF Joysticks).

"Elite" version has Sanwa parts (lever and buttons).

Sanwa lever comes with 4/8 way gate. 4way is good for Tetris. But 8 way is better to replace above parts.

If you may consider convert to HitBox style (4 directional buttons instead of lever), F300 (not Elite / $56.99 on Amazon) would be good too.

Qanba Carbon is okay if you don't mind a smaller size, but you might want to upgrade the parts later. I only paid $60 for mine, but I'm thinking about buying a new stick now, because I want something bigger and with the stick further away from the buttons.

If you're gunning for a fight stick, which IS supposed to be expensive, just get your money's worth & buy the expensive one, you know what I mean.

Qanba q4 RAF is my stick. Works on ps3 and pc mode. Needs a special adapter (name escapes me) to work on PS4. Mostly Sanwa parts. Upgrade the gate to an 8-way as the 4 way gate it comes with makes diagonal inputs difficult.

I'd recommand to stick with your PS4 controller then. Because if you want an arcade stick you might be disapointed with a cheap one. It's better to play on a good gamepad than on a cheap arcade stick. If you are confident in building it yourself however, you'll save a lot of money.

i am using a daja stick because i found it at a decent price at gamestop near my house 140 euro but sh*t the lever is long as the d*ck of a smurf... I don't know if all sticks have the same length but fk it's uncomfortable to use even changing the battop. i need to find an extension, sh*t another 8 euro for a piece of metal. I can't use the pad bcs my hand hurt after a while and it feels uncomfortable to me.
This daja stick is really good, built like a tank, all sanwa ultra precise parts, it works immediately on steam for tekken but i repeat, the lever is too short, they should include an extension in the package for adult (european male)players. AFter 2 days of playing i am(almost) familiar with it.

I just found out about this one now: https://youtu.be/pXr-lSiQp3I

I have Hori RAP V Hayabusa PS3/PS4 and Madcatz TE. Both are great.

If you really want the cheap ones, maybe Mayflash F300 elite (idk I never have one, but the sanwa parts is a safe bet.Too bad its a bit small I prefer bigger fightstick)

I played stick and returned to pad. Bottom line if u grew up with arcades then stick would come in handy but if not just stay with pad.
